Crane falls, and you realize that he no longer has his cybernetic augments. In fact, as he plummets, you realize that he has returned to normal, with the strange weapon vanishing from his hand.
Stephenson hits a passing dump truck full of pillows and is knocked out, although to any observer, including the mystery sniper, he is dead.
