I was expecting Xur to sell Hawkmoon last week. I wasn't expecting them to give it to us out of a green engram.

They didn't. The green engram was just a joke and a chance for them to show off the new RNG system. Chances are that you, like me and many others, didn't have hawkmoon

I think they were trolling us, or trying to keep it a surprise that they were giving us a free exotic.

I'm taking it a bit of a cheeky joke. You know, like "hey let's give then a free Exotic as part of a reward for being year one players" "Yeah that sounds good. Let's make it green though so that way, they're not even expecting it" Idk it made me laugh when I got mine
