Best way to get some gear is completing the quests. Once you get to about 250lightlevel you can start doing heroic strikes. They will drop some high end blue gear and some legendary engrams as well plus you will get legendary marks so you can buy new gear too. And you cant infuse blue weapons/armour. Only legendary and exotic pieces can be infused. However if your blue gear has a higher stat than your legendary. You can use it to infuse your legendary for a stat boost
