Just keep playing, as your light gets higher so does the quality of your drops (cool ain't it?)
I suggest you get enough light by doing quests and then running Heroic strikes and doing court of oryx
And only legendary gear can be infused, but high level blues can be consumed by legendary gear

Roger that, sound advice thanks. Feel stupid asking about the blue infusion, but I've read of people using blue to infuse legendary, was confused about the whole thing at first. Cheers!

They're right, blue can be used to infuse legendary gear as long as it's more powerful than said legendary gear
