IS MARA SOV DEAD?!?
Im really upset now. In the cutscene it showed Oryx kind of using radioactive waves to destroy all the awoken AND the Queens ship.
Does that mean she is dead?
In the grimoire it is stated that her brother landed on Mars and the Queen is reported as "missing".. Thoughts anyone?

1 ReplyI'll bet everyone thinks she's dead, and the crows report that she is dead, but her death was very anti-climactic, and it vaguely shows the ketch being destroyed. I think she may very well still be alive due to some mysterious powers of the Nine. Since everyone thinks the queen is dead, this would be a perfect opportunity to do a plot twist, which would make the story actually interesting, instead of being the lazy, dry, cliche, and predictable story it is now. I have a feeling that if she actually died permanently, Bungie would've made them actually talk in the cutscene. But instead, it's just a commentary, like "I am the queen of the Awoken. This beast wants to rule us. I kneel to no one." I have a feeling that the reason why Bungie made it a commentary is because if it revealed what they were actually saying, it would reveal some secrets about the Nine. And that she was preparing to do something with the Nine's help that she would survive. Maybe now, she is a part of the Nine, even though her body was destroyed.

Mars Sov is the Cryptarch and also the final boss of King's Fall Heroic after defeating Lyxar (Xylar's brother).

Read queen aftermath ship from the taken king black garden ghost. It stated she's trapped in her ship her brother can home her in, he can't because he doesn't have the tools to fix his ship.

I have seen her ship blown up by Oryx, but recent descriptions on queens wrath turn ins suggest she might be alive. So no. This is one of those popularity contests. If a lot of people want her back? She'll come back. If not ? See ya later queen.

2 RepliesIn the cutscene just before Oryx's deathblast hits her ship, her eyes stop glowing all together. This could mean she channelled a great deal of power through her to survive or maybe it means that the Dreadnaught attack started to kill her before the blast actually hit the ship. There might be more reasons as to why her eyes stopped glowing completely, but I still think she survived

They've already said that Awoken survivors have taken refuge on one of saturns moons to prepare a counter attack or something it's in one of Petras quests I think I read/heard it

Look at what bungie did what sergeant johnson: we all thought that guy got turned into the flood and he came back in halo and they just came up a reason for it that made sense. The queen is a fundamental character in the story, and i believe bungie will bring the queen back.
