The way I see it servers are just a courtesy item from bungie. We are paying for a game not the servers.
Kinda like if you go and buy a car, but then the dealership decides to charge you every year to keep the tires.
Sure you can bring up "but you dont own the game" and all that but I think the analogy is fair enough.

Leasing the car would have been a better analogy. As for the servers, this game doesn't exist without the servers. There is no offline version of the game (even our save data is stored on Bungie servers). Someday, the servers will go down and there won't be any more Destiny. Then we can all cry together.
