What's going on Guardians?! While sitting here bored to death at work I wanted to do some math (as much as I hate math) and determine the best material to exchange to your Faction Vendors for Reputation. For those of you that don't already know, you can now turn in materials like armor mats, Motes of Light, and Ammo Synthesis in exchange for Reputation with that Faction. So, without further a due lets get right into the math! * NOTE - IF ANY OF MY CALCULATIONS SEEM WRONG PLEASE DON'T HESITATE IN CORRECTING ME... I'M NOT PERFECT. Material Math: - 10 Strange Coins = 5 Motes of Light = 125 Reputation (5 Motes of Light @ 125 Rep.) - 10 Strange Coins = 30 Heavy Ammo (2.0 Update) = 930 Reputation (1 Heavy Ammo @ 31 Rep.) - 30 Heavy Ammo = 28,500 Glimmer (1 Heavy Ammo @ 950 Glimmer) - 28,500 Glimmer = 114 Special Ammo (1 Special Ammo @ 250 Glimmer) = 883.5 Reputation (4 Special Ammo @ 31 Rep.) So then, what's the BEST material to turn in for Reputation? - Heavy Ammo is 7.44x better than exchanging Motes of Light. - Special Ammo is 7.068x better than exchanging Motes of Light. Of course, if you have an abundance of armor materials or commendations (like myself) that is a very effective way at getting quick Reputation with your Faction as well. - 8000 armor mats = 19,840 Reputation (25 armor mats @ 62 Rep.) - 18 Commendations = 4500 Reputation (1 Commendation @ 250 Rep.) Keep in mind as well that when TTK drops Nightfalls will no longer be granting the respective Nightfall XP bonus. If you have completed this week's (September 8th) Nightfall and have the XP bonus you can begin to turn some of these materials in for additional Reputation. Or, you can do what I am doing and turn in all your materials when TTK releases for potential new weapons/gear!
