I haven't encountered a solar hammer yet in PvP, so I don't know if it is OP or not. However, I hope Bungie makes all the supers sorta equally strong in PvP.
I read somewhere that the solar hammer has the same power as golden gun, only it has unlimited throws and you don't really have to aim THAT well as with golden gun. :-S I hope this isn't true.
Either way, when I heard about solar hammer I figured it would be the the same as Warlocks sunsinger. That would be pretty good.

It's like a lower range slower travelling Golden Gun that can create additional effects, e.g. sunspots. This is my experience of getting killed by it. It's fine. It has a very distinctive activation noise, so you know to not go near the titan with the hammer while he's on fire. It's actually a LOT more distinctive of a noise than the activation of Arc Blade or Golden Gun. It's a good super that I can't be mad about when I lose to it.

Edited by Potzy the Toker: 9/17/2015 8:39:10 AMIt's entirely true, and for the moment, count yourself lucky you haven't had to taste the ire of mediocre players winging hammers as fast as they can at you. I played for hours and hours yesterday, and out of the hundreds of titans I seen, only a handful were Strikers, and I didn't see a single Defender bubble the entire time I played. The only realistic way to practically counter the new Titan super is by being a Nightstalker hunter and using your super on them to snuff out theirs. Other than that, you have to hide and wait for their super to run out, or hope that they suck bad enough that you can successfully flank them, which isn't all too easy even then, what with the exploding-ness of it all as well.
