They took that out. Since you have all the consumables to gain glimmer like ether seeds, black wax, blue polyphage, and resupply codes. Encouragement by bungie for you to use these items I imagine

That doesn't make any sense. You use those things to boost glimmer, not to give you glimmer. So if they drop no glimmer, they would be use less.
