The point of it is to encourage everyone to try all of the classes and to collect all of the exotics. It's actually not a bad idea

I'm with you, anyone with all three classes would also agree... You would think.

Right I get that; I am fine with the quests being class locked, but class locking the weapons themselves adds unnecessary balancing issues to the game.
