If the dismantle step is the same as the shotgun/fusion rifle steps, you only need the parts from the dismantle. So, instead of 10 fusion rifles, it was 5 rare. Or 2 legendaries.
Of course, I never did the quest fr the Ace of Spades; but it looked similar to the quest given for rank 2 Gunsmith.

Yea I got the level two shotgun quest for my Titan. Dismantled two old party crashers I had in the vault and it was done.

It may be that. I used old legendaries so I didn't get the rare count. Just assumed 1 per rare will update post
