Poor analogy. A better one would be that you bought a blue ray, say "Antman", that you love. Well, Antman 2 comes out, you hear it's awful so decide against buying it. A few days later you decide you want to watch your Antman blue ray again but when you put it in and press play, a prompt comes up that says "you need to have Antman 2 purchased to watch this disc". That'd be shitty right? Well, that's what happened to players that didn't buy the taken king. But instead of hearing them out, you make a disingenuous and passive aggressive post because they don't like a game you like. Cliffs: you're dumb and no one likes you.

 • Try: after antman 2 is out, you can only watch 14 out of the 18 chapters.

 • You can't possible think yours was better right? His was at least similar in concept.

 • Your analogy is worse by far.

 • Your analogy makes less sense than the OP and his makes no sense whatsoever...

 • Either you have a very broad definition of what an analogy is or you don't really understand how TTK affected vanilla Destiny. If you were trying to argue against the OP (which I'm not) by proposing a more complete analogy using your Antman example, you should have said something like: "When you try to watch Antman without purchasing Antman 2 you don't have access to the neatly organized scene selection menu, don't have access to the language change options, etc.". This is because you can still play vanilla Destiny without TTK, and your analogy proposes that you can't watch Antman without buying Antman 2. But then again, like another very confused person in this thread, you are attempting to make an analogy between games and movies because your conceptual framework for understanding these things is apparently loose enough to allow them to become analogically similar (presumably based on them both being popular entertainment forms?) to the point that you are able to prove the absurdity of the real life situation involving games by hypothetically purporting the absurdity that would ensue if movies operated in a similar structure. Why is this analogically silly? Because movies and games are not related by anything at all that causes any ridiculous scenario you pose for one of them to become immediately true for the other. TL;DR: lrn 2 analogy skrub

 • Amen brother. Let us strive to overthrow the tyrannical rule of flawed conceptual frameworks and embrace the synthesis of ideas.

 • The Antman movie is content. With Destiny 1, you can still play all Quests, Strikes, Crucible Maps, Raids and Patrols that you purchased with the original game (plus any expansions you may have acquired). These things are content; you purchased this content, and can still access it whenever you wish. The Nightfall and Heroic Story/Strikes? These are features. Features are different from content. They exist to promote and utilise the latest endgame, whatever that happens to be. In your 'bluray' analogy, it would be akin to clicking on your library, and it says "watch the latest Antman movie". You can't access this, because you don't have Antman 2. But you can still watch Antman 1 whenever you want; that content is still there, you paid for it, and no one has touched it.

 • I assume if nightfalls, dailies, heroics and Iron Banner had been entirely removed, even for those of us who bought TTK and then a month later they released a paid Feature Pack to put them back in, you'd be totally ok with it because you never paid for those things, right? No, you wouldn't. That's what's happening to the players that didn't buy TTK. None of these things that people are suddenly calling features were ever marketed or presented as being separate from the main game.

 • No, because I and others saw it for what it was from the start. A playlist with difficulty modifiers that utlises the latest max-level, whatever that happens to be at the time. Maybe because I and others have played games like this before. This is nothing new. If they decided to go against this philosophy in the future and sell a "playlist pack"? That's well within their rights. I'd probably stop playing. But content wouldn't have been taken away from me. Because I know the difference between content and features.

 •
Maybe because I and others have played games like this before. This is nothing new.
This...this right here. I have played plenty of games (mainly MMOs) that do this - if you don't buy the next expansion, then you will not be able to do things you were able too before. Honestly, I believe alot of these people who complain come from CoD or Halo, where if you don't buy DLC, you still be able to play the entire game.

 • This. Sucks that some of these people don't have common sense. World of Warcraft has similar events on holidays, if ur not max level, guess what, u cant do so called content. But whatever, stupid people wont understand either way.
