By your thinking it would be fair for a company to release a game then on day 2 turn it off and make it unavailable and you would have no cause for complaint?

Realistically they could do that, but they don't because then they would never have business. No one would trust them.

They've lost my trust by doing what they've done, let alone what they legally could do.
