I won't comment on your bad analogy (some people already replied with better analogies below) but the real question is:
Even if they can do anything they want because we signed the EULA, does it means it's ok? Should we, as customers, encourage this behavior? Do you feel like it's fair for people to not be able to play in Crucible, where gear shouldn't matter? Hell, I couldn't even kill a bounty on earth yesterday just because they upped the level to 40 for that mission...
I have the 40$, I chose to wait and see how they would handle the expansion for everyone. I was extremely disappointed in the paywalls they put in place over the content we already had access to and they will not receive my money. End of story. Netflix on the other hand will continue to amaze me with his low monthly rate and infinite source of content.

Really? Damn, I guess I must be screwed for my 8$ a month with so many series, documentaries and movies that even if I try to watch them all in my free time I will die before I go through the list. But thanks for the eye opener.
