Should be a buff for NOT buying from Pez Dispenser Xur!
Should be a buff you maintain throughout the year called "Above All Else" similar to the Nightfall buff that makes head glow etc. Once you buy his -blam!-ing trash you lose it! Cya yo!
It doesnt need to actually do anything because people just seeing it will know your hardcore and EARN your shit.
-blam!-ing lazy Xurners could easily be spotted (when you dont see them groveling at his feet) and you could avoid them.
No offense, i just think they are worthless, they stink, and rather bring a half used can of mirolax into a raid.

You do a strike once and a new exotic helmet drops randomly. Another player does the strike several times to get enough strange coins to buy the helmet from Xur. Who did more "earning?"

You do realize you don't earn anything in destiny, because it is all random? If anything, xur is the pinacle of having earned something, because his items aren't randomly rewarded, you have to work to earn the resources to get his items.

I don't like xur I don't think having him is a good idea I don't even like three of coins but I'm not going to crutch myself by not using it i think their should be some weapons restricted to rng like nightfall only or strike only so xur can't just sell everything I know he will not sell the quest items but those quest are trigger by something you do not just rng they are basing a game of rng and also making the rng obsolete they either need to commit to rng or get rid of it you can't have it both ways but a elitest thing like what your talking about is just dumb if your trying to say that you have never bought anything from xur including heavy ammo then you are a lier almost everyone who was a day one player got one of their first exotics from xur because the weeklys were not easy does that make it earned not xurnd because the nightfall are not hard you have not earned a lot of you exotics but one of the best memories I have is grinding the first weeklys for coins to buy my lucky raspberry so next time you finish last in crucible and get a exotic just think how much you earned it
