Just got my car back from the dealer. They offered to upgrade my CD player to an iPod. I declined but now my CD player is a cassette player.

At first I felt he made a very good point but I see yours is good as well. I'm torn. :(

The OP is trying to say that what happened didn't happen. Its clear what Bungie did here. If you're enjoying the game then its not a a big deal for you. It could be for others. Its really a matter of opinion. I'm looking at this as Destiny 2 and the starting over we all had to do is just part of that. And if you're one of those that did not buy TTK your time in Destiny is most likely over. I know it would be for me.
-
It's not the same though. They raised the level cap, which means they need to raise the levels of the end game content. If you don't buy the latest and greatest you can't get to the new level cap, which means you can't play the end game stuff anymore. It is what has to happen for the game to continue to progress forward.

They just didn't add to, they took away.

Go to another dealership

Ho-ly-crap.

Accurate analogy.
-
here is a good analogy. Everyone seems to be missing the point.

well said

LMFAOOOOOOO

This analogy is completely off base. 1) You actually own the car, you bought a physical object. However you do not own the rights to the brand which the car was manufactured. 2) Software is not a physical medium which you can own unless you write it yourself. You bought a physical disc which you own but cannot own the IP on the disc. You sign an agreement to get access to said content. A better analogy is like a book series. Unless you keep buying more books to complete the series, you can't progress any further and are stuck where you stopped buying the books. In the books is a story which you do not own, the author owns the story which you paid to READ, you didn't buy the rights to the story.
-
Yeah but you don't lose the books you already bought, so bad analogy. There is no good analogy for this as Bungie are taking the piss in a manner pretty unheard of before.
-
You lose your own hyper on what's to come. You lose knowing what comes next. you do lose stuff in this analogy, trust me I went through it and bought the rest of the books anyway. it is a good analogy
-
No it's not, you don't lose ANYTHING you PAID for. Bad analogy.
-
And you didn't lose anything you paid for herr. everything you paid for is still accessible just reorganized. I'm sorry you can't play the new crucible maps that came out year two. or the new strikes. but you had a chance to pay for more and didn't. there are playlists for year one crucible and strikes. you didn't lose anything
-
Edited by Queeg 500: 9/19/2015 7:12:47 AMI know I can't play the new stuff, I expect that. The last two dlc didn't lock you out of rumble etc or even the weeklies or nightfall unless it was as the new strikes. This one does, so content has been lost. That's an immutable fact. So the book analogy is still bad.
-
Yeah, if you're book analogy were true, then the author would come to your house and rip out old chapters unless you bought their new book
-
Your book analogy is wrong. In this case its like when the next book comes out, if you did not buy it, important parts of the previous one somehow become unreadable.
-
Edited by JelloEmperor: 9/18/2015 10:21:08 PMThat's not what bungie is doing either, but keep screaming ripoff loud enough I'm sure someone will take pity on you.

I dont think anyone can argue that players who didnt buy the dlc are missing a lot of what they had before. I honestly dont care about missing out on leveling up, new gear, etc. Im mostly annoyed that i cant go and play in a clash only playlist anymore, or control if im in the mood. Pvp has been funneled into playlists based on team size, not game mode. Im not " screaming" or looking for "pity." Im just annoyed that i cant play what i paid for anymore.

If you are invested in the game then you might want to pay for more of it. Bungie wanted all those who purchased the DLC to have all the maps in Ye playlist (which definitely makes sense for a whole bunch of reasons). Since they are splitting the less populous group out from the main one, Bungie was probably concerned about maintaining a large player pool for those stuck in the legacy playlists, so they boiled it down to the basics. The plus side is that when/if Mayhem is considered a part of basic, then it should show up in the 6v6 playlist.

You could always buy ttk.

But hey, a cassette deck makes a great ipod holder!
