You mean trials that was only available to DLC holders? That trials? How quickly people forget, bungie has been doing this since TDB, people just havent noticed because they had Y1 expansion passes.
Suck it up and shell out the 40 (well worth it, IMO) or move on.

Trials is an advertised House Of Wolves mode. They removed an advertised feature form the game, and in turn, also removed Elimination.
