Looks like this bug is back. Crashed twice this morning already.

Just happened twice to me, both times on the bond brothers strike

Agreed just bought the FWC hand cannon. Start Killing and blowing things up with it and the game freezes.

Im kind of surprised this wasn't fixed in today's patch Don't get me wrong, the Titan spam-hammer glitch needed resolving pronto.

Hope it gets fixed quickly, it's really annoying (i am using the vanity).

Doesn't happen on ps4 use ace of spades all the time never freezes once.

I think I'm having this issue as well. Every time I'm a little to close to my firefly explosion, my game crashes with error code ce-34878-0 (instead of freezing). I'm on PS4 so that might explain the crashing/freezing difference.

This was also happening to a friend the other night. Xbox one.

I guess I'll join this list, it froze on me during the valus strike twice, at first I thought it was the strike itself. To be safe I'll use a different weapon during the raid

Same thing happened to me. I've been using the FWC hand cannon "The Vanity" and my Xbox one has frozen over 10 times (usually during a Firefly explosion) and I have to go to dashboard to close the Destiny app. I hope it gets fixed soon. Has anyone else experienced these crashes with other Firefly weapons?

Same problem here. Also using hand cannon. In my case I had it freeze with explosions viewed through scopes too.

Im experiencing the same issue with vanity from FWC

I have this issue just in general it's not even when I use firefly. But it's only happens twice and both those times it wasn't anything important but annoying none the less.

I'm still on a 360, and I was seeing the Firefly Nuke effect immediately after the Taken King update the week before the 15th (my bae was an old Saterienne Rapier that dropped with Firefly, with the remaining perks giving it good Stability and maxed Range). Occasionally to the point that the explosions would make the game chug for a moment -- it seemed like popping one enemy's head would cause previously-popped heads to go off again as well. Don't remember if I got it to make the game crash, but suddenly the boom-booms were crazy-go-nuts.

Same is happening to me. 3rd crash just now, guess I'll use something else until its patched.

Update: 9:20pm I was playing on PS3 and here is somthing I noticed with Firefly. This all happened within about 1min on Cosmodrome from patrol spawn heading to where the Fallen Walker Public Event occurs. I made a head-shot and the firefly effect occurred at a different location on my screen. In other words, I basically I shot an enemy next to a group of other characters and the Firefly explosion occurs maybe 10-20 away from enemies entirely. Then, they all die in the group, but the Firefly explosion occurs further away. Now the next few Firefly shots Slow down occurs. I shoot a few more enimies in the head the Frames per-second trickle to a crawl for a second or two. I shoot again up close and personal around five feet away from enimies Firefly effect causes slow down that the enitire console freezes completely on a single image of a explosion and all sound turns off. I tried to go to XMB but the game is completely locked up. I check the system for HDD activity there is none but the green internet indicator is flashing a lot. I try to Reach XMB one last time to quit game or shut down. Doesn't respond. I press power button. System beep three times (bad sign meaning faulty shut-down). System reboots and said had a faulty shut down and I have to report occurance to Sony PSN. I send report and do a HDD File System Restore check to make sure things are not messed up. System boots up finding no errors and now I can boot up game again. So the Freeze occurs on PS3. This Bug occurs I can guarantee it that it happens on All consoles and it's a game software system performance problem that needs to be fixed immediately. The Luck in the chamber mixed with a head shot for firefly causes a very big explosion resulting in huge effects or the effect spawning in the wrong location and then freezing the console into a panic. Update: It's not due to luck in the chamber, it must be a performance issue that affects all consoles due to the particle effects and damage of the Firefly perk alone.

Hey metallicaNLC, While I don't have a solution to your problem(sorry), it could be helpful if you or one of the others who replied with the same issue, post a video showing the crash in action. Leave in the events leading up to the crash and what happens as you are forced to quit out of Destiny. I would suggest adding the tag #Bugs so that it has a better chance of being seen.
