I've seen a lot of people asking how they're meant to beat Alak-Hul in 30 seconds. You don't need to, that's not the goal. You need to go into patrol in the dreadnought and find a boss. The enemies in the Asylum are level 42, but I did it at around 270 light.
Go in patrol, head to the founts (through the mausoleum, on the left side facing the cliff) and go to the big door you go through for the sunless cell strike (past the grinder). There's three knight wardens there; one in the middle, and one on either side. You have to kill all three of them within roughly 30 seconds and the door will open. A good way to do this is to get them all down to relatively low health, then use a super to take them all out quickly.
Kill all the enemies inside to get some breathing room, then fight Ecthar. His shield can only be damaged by your sword, but you don't need the sword to hurt him once the shield is gone. Drop the shield, spam shotgun blasts or something. Don't bother with supers like stormtrance, because his shield will replenish before you can do much.
There is no time limit for killing Ecthar.
Spread the word.
