After her rooftop conversation with Etana, she is intrigued about Lance, the swordsman she knows nothing about. She messages him. Lance, what are you doing right now?
Why?
Because I was wondering about your sword, Savior you called it?
What about it?
Where'd you get it?
That isn't any of your concern Jessica.
She stops typing, her heart pounding in anticipation. How do you know that?
I know people. Why'd you lie?
Because I want nothing to do with my past life.
Understandable.
That doesn't give you a right to snoop into my past.
I don't need a right. When you told me you trained with Rorik, I had to know more about you. The girl who was worthy of the SantoRyu style.
Rorik said he'd only teach the best.
Then why didnt he teach me?
Because you aren't the best Lance.
There's a fine line between confidence and arrogance Blade. Don't cross it.
I can wield three swords at once. I was taught by the master himself. I. Am. The. Best. May.
There's the arrogance. You have no idea who you're talking to.
I don't care. I will be the worlds best swordsman. No matter what it costs me.
How can you do that if I'm still here Trinity?
How about I fix that? Meet me Downtown in 10 minutes. And I'll show you who's the best.
Whatever you say.. Jessica.
10 Minutes later Trinity arrives downtown, to see Lance leaning against a building, looking calm and at ease. She calls, "You act like you aren't about to lose Lance."
"That's because I'm not."
"We'll see." Trinity says as she unsheathes her 3 katanas, two in her hands and one in her mouth, as Lance unsheathes Savior. "One sword can't beat three Lance."
"That's the attitude that's going to get you killed Jessica."
"Don't call me that!" She yells as she rushes at Lance with a barrage of blows, her 3 swords a whirlwind of steel in the air, but Lance blocks effortlessly, quickly, and with ease. He sidesteps so Trinity goes sprawling past him.
"You can't win Jessica. Stop now."
She gets back up silently, sprinting at Lance with renewed speed, swinging twice as fast, but getting blocked twice as easily. She stops and steps back. "How the hell are you doing this?! 3 years I've trained, day in and day out, and you shut me down like I'm nothing!"
Lance smirks. "Don't ever think you're better than you are Trinity. Because there will always be someone better."
This pisses Trinity off even more, and she screames as she comes at Lance with two side cuts, which he cross blocks, and she comes with an overhead cut which he slips past and opens up a cut in her side.
Is this what real power is? She thinks, clutching her side.
"Stop it Trinity. Don't make me kill you."
I have to be the best, she says while she readjusts her grip on her swords.
She charges at Lance with almost in human speed, and Lance sprints at her. A Ching of metal is heard when they flash past each other. All the debris in the area is pushed by a force of outward wind, as Trinity's swords are cut in half, and Lance straightens, unscathed.
Lance pounces on Trinity, his blade at her throat. "I told you to quit. And you didn't listen."
Trinity struggles as she seems to take what she thinks are her last breaths.
((Sorry for the novel, open to people breaking it up.))

Edited by EvoTymes: 9/21/2015 2:01:52 AMHe sighs and shakes his head "This competition can lead to bad things, really bad things. I hope you two will put this behind you."
-
"Then it's a good thing you were here, wasnt it Etana?" Lance sneers.
-
He glares at you. "Lance, if you knew you were the better swordsman why would you take a fight where you two would hurt each other?"
-
"She wanted to fight me. I tried to stay passive and she kept coming. She should've stopped when she knew she was deathly outmatched."
-
"Lance if you knew she was deathly outmatched and you wanted to be the better swordsman you should've stopped too. Trinity you shouldn't have gone and just fought someone. You guys are both wrong, one of you could've ended up dead."
-
"If I stopped, she would've kept trying to kill me. Sorry to break it to you Etana but she needed an eye opener."
-
"Your both wrong. There is no correct way for seeing this. Both wrong in your actions."
-
"View it how you will Etana."
-
"There are so many other ways you two could've taken this. You could've disarmed her and Trinity you didn't have to start the fight in the first place in such a manner."
-
"Disarming her wasnt going to show her that her power complex was non-existent. She needed to know that just because she wields a lost art, doesn't mean she is powerful."
-
"You didn't have to fight her Lance if you knew you were better." He carries her to a local clinic and he motions for you to follow.
-
Lance follows as Trinity asks between ragged breaths. "Can I..stay with you.. Tonight Etana?"
-
"Yeah, sure." He carries her to the clinic. "Lance, so you think what you did is correct?"
-
He runs a hand through his hair. "Not entirely, no Etana."
-
"At least we can agree on that." The medic starts tending to Trinity's wound "I understand that your a swordsman and that you live by a code and what not. But ask yourself, did you have to take that approach?"
-
He bites his bottom lip and runs his hands over his face. "She shouldn't have challenged me. She should've known she didn't stand a chance."
-
"Lance, that's where she is wrong. Do you knew where you a wrong though?" The medic tends to trinity's wounds.
-
Lance leans his head against the wall. "No Etana, no I don't fücking know. She tried to say she was the best, and I've trained my whole life to call myself that. Just because she uses the Santoryu didn't give her authority to take that mantle."
-
"You could've taken a different approach Lance. Many ways you could've approached this."
-
"That's the only approach I've ever taken."
-
"Sometimes you have to take different approaches."
-
He leans his head against the wall. "Damn it. You're right Etana."
-
He nods. "We all grew up differently and see things differently. Sometimes it's best to look at something through a different perspective."
