Boy has it been a long time since I last posted here. I've already made a character and armed myself
Eric Hallwinter crouched atop the building's pinnacle, the wind blowing his stark black hair out of his eyes. Once, he would have been immobilized with fear at such a height, but the confidence bestowed by his cybernetic enhancements rejuvenated him. The fall would be precarious, as it always was, and he prepared himself mentally for the short span of time in which every second could bring death... Not that being on the ground would be that much safer. The thugs he was stalking weren't your average KAP-8 junkies; they were thieves with no honor, and would do anything to satisfy their cravings, and they were already accredited with seven murders and a kidnapping.
Eric wondered as he fell why he insisted on jumping from heights, as his body was whipped around by the ferocious winds, and the answer came to him sooner than he had expected. The fall made him stare death in the eye, and inspired him to think quickly, and to react to any situation which might arise; after all, chaos was the only constant.
The thugs in question were located by a diner, loitering around the back while undoubtably waiting for victims to arise. Eric's eyes weren't augmented as the rest of his body was, but he had prided himself on his good vision, even during night-strikes like this, as he detected seven clearly armed hostiles, and one who appeared to be injecting himself with KAP-8; not something Eric wanted to deal with, but it was far too late for that...
He landed on top of the closest thug, the plasteel platings on his legs bearing the brunt of the impact as the man's skeleton collapsed. Without wasting time, he threw the broken body at one of the man's comrades, knocking the gun out of their hands as he punched another in the throat. He heard a whistle as a shot whizzed over his head, and just barely moved a thug in time to intercept a bullet heading towards his chest. The man whose gun he had knocked away threw a savage punch at him, but Eric crushed the bones in his hand with nonchalant ease, and then proceeded to break several ribs with a single punch.
By now, the remaining three men had organized themselves, while the KAP-8 user appeared to be completely oblivious to his peril; most people were when they were that high. As one drew a sawed-off shotgun, Eric realized that he was in a lot more danger than he had expected. Sprinting at a speed that would have made an Olympian jealous, he rushed towards the wielder of the gun, deftly intercepting a blast with his plasteel-layered cybernetic arms. He quickly disarmed the man, using his gun to kill him and his other two comrades, but as he turned around to face off against the KAP thug his neural implants relayed a message to him.
WARNING: ENFORCEMENT INBOUND
Now he was faced with a difficult choice; kill an oblivious man and run, or flee quickly and risk the man being aware of his identity, for he could only be feigning unconsciousness. With a sigh, Eric put down the gun and ran; a vigilante though he was, he despised murder unless it was unavoidable. Suddenly, he realized that someone had been watching him during the fight, and he looks up at a nearby rooftop to see his observer.
