This is so stupid. I paid 100 dollars on destiny. Now I can't play that anymore since I don't have TTK? Really? What the -blam!-. I can't even afford TTK right now. This is bullshit. I can't play destiny the game that so much memories came from and now I can't play it anymore. Is this even legal? Like now CMON. Now I regret buying destiny........
;_;
Edit 1: all of you are -blam!-. How about being in my situation and understand. You probably would be mad too. Stop being ignorant for once and actually think please.
Edit 2: thanks for all the people that are supporting me and actually giving me advice instead of going apeshit on me.
;_;
Edit 3: Thanks for 1221 replies :D. My thread blew up fast. 1221 replies under a day. Thank you all! Much love to you all

A game lasts an average of 60 hours of playtime for 60 USD. 100 USD means an average of 100 hours of playtime. You have over three times that so your money went over thee times that length. If you can't afford the subscription for a mmo game you can't play it and guess what destiny is a mmo game where instead of paying a monthly fee you pay a bi-yearly fee (which is a lot cheaper than most mmos). You should get a job and buy it if you want to keep playing the mmo or move on to a free to pla ygame.
-
Wait....how is bungie taking your money if you haven't spent any money on TTK
-
I understand your pain. Only I have the money on my account, both TDB and HoW, but it still says unavailable for the standalone TTK purchase on Xbone. Luckily, I'm a mostly crucible player, so I can play there, but it's still frustrating that I can't get TTK.
-
Seems like the issue is you need to make $40 and pony up to the table. I mean you clearly like the game and want to continue playing it, just get the taken king and call it a day. But you should know that this isn't a trend that's going to end. Every new DLC and expansion is going to cost money and inevitably lock you out of content if you don't buy it. If it is that much of an issue for you, maybe it's time to cut your losses and pick a new game. As far as the legality goes it's perfectly legal. You agree to the terms of service. You're an end user, meaning they own the game and let you play it.
-
I already shed my negative opinion on it, but here's some advice now. Find a good friend that has ttk, ask if he'll let you log in to his account so you can gameshare it and get ttk for free
-
You can still play. You just don't get the daily or nightfall surely. Maybe miss the vanguard playlists (did people still do them in HoW) You lost a little bit didn't you expect that give how the previous expansions worked.
-
I understand where you are coming from, but with that being said, when you first log into Destiny it tells you all these things, and you have to click " I read and accept" You brought on your own fate.. also you still can play over the campaign again, its just like if you bought call of duty and played the campaign, well you wont get another for free without spending money.
-
You had months to save money for TTK. It was your choice to spend it on other things...
-
VoG CE PoE Classic pvp maps Quit bitching there you got sonething to play
-
Here's the thing... Idk about the classic crucible playlists being i don't play crucible, but technically you're only locked out of taken king content. You still have access to year 1 strikes, raids, and story missions. Vendor gear is a stupid lockout imo but that's just my opinion. However, you can't do nightfall or weekly because that's endgame content, and they're also only the new TTK strikes. You've been locked out of those because you haven't paid for them. Bungie should make non TTK players a seperate nightfall and weekly, but they won't because it's about money.
TL:DR - Although it feels like it, you're not "technically" locked out of what you paid for, except vendor gear and possibly crucible.
-
You have 720+ hours played... id say you got your moneys worth if you dont want to continue expanding the game
-
I agree with you. Even though you shouldn't be able to play any new content that you haven't paid for, everything you have paid for should still be playable.
-
I stopped paying for Netflix but I should be able to still watch movies.

Edited by TopSixShakes: 9/23/2015 1:52:50 PMIt's just a video game get you're money up then buy the expansion it is worth it. Never expect a corporation to have you're back.

Problem Solved
-
You can still play all year one activities and even Xur still brings you engrams. You're just locked out from all the new crucible matches and end game content, as you should be.
-
Edited by TheDubAddict: 9/23/2015 1:22:51 PMIf you can't afford Taken King ($40) then you shouldn't be fùcking worrying about a fůcking video game. If you can't afford to spend $40 then a video game shouldn't be your priority.
coming from someone who hasn't even bought TTK yet
Bungies is TAKEN* our money away.
-
Edited by BizzalBizzaro: 9/23/2015 12:20:49 PMPlease stop with these, please. Either upgrade to year 2 or move on.
-
You have the content you payed for. You have strikes, the two old raids, prison of elders and year one crucible to play. As well as bounties and patrols. Vendors, and end game content like nightfall are locked because they are with the content of the taken king.
-
This should have been how it was with the last two updates, they gave players that didn't pay an option to get the new gear and allowed them to stay with the current endgame. I also think they should have blocked the update from everyone that didn't pay for them, but there's multiple problems with any solution and honestly the new game that TTK gives is so much better then year 1. I really wish this had been how it was when we first got it, but I had fun in year 1 so I really don't care that much. While it sucks for you, it's not my problem. There's always putting a post in the help and feedback forums, most probably agree with you there. Also there's the option of actually writing a real letter to either Bungie or Activision.

So you turn on the game and it doesn't load. What do you mean you can't get to earth, Mars or venus?
