...You actually don't care if sunbreaker gets nerfed or not!
this post was pre nerf, I really like the striker buffs :)
--------------------------------------
I honestly think sunbreaker isn't that Over Powered, however if it were to get nerfed slightly I wouldn't retaliate.
Here's why!
The entirety of year 1 should be a hallmark for the Titans that managed to do well in crucible in the face of blink shotgunners and supers that simply made ours look obsolete.
I commend others who decided to main titan and stick with it.
People who primarily played as the other classes had never truly acknowledged that striker and defender titans were kind of underwhelming in multiplayer
some people made an exception
saying things like "you have the best grenades and shoulder charge is wayyy too OP dude, you guys don't need a buff. Screw that!" and that's still up for debate. Now sunbreaker seems more powerful in comparison and they SCREAM for nerfs.
To be honest I would rather earn the respect and recognition of other players (even if they're snobs) by beating them with lousy abilities than have them spit in our faces as if we are some kind of cheating scum.
We need to show that we are the better people. Right now is the time of our burning vengeance and that's perfectly fine with me, but if bungie smacks us with their own hammer I would happily be treated like an equal combatant even if it ment becoming lesser.
In the lore, being a Titan means showing honor and respect, remembering the sacrifices that you had to fight through to gain it. It translates pretty well into what Y1 PvP was like. People who just moved over to Titan for sunbreaker might not ever get that sense of mentality.
Edit: I try to reply to everyone, sorry if I seem annoying :P
Edit2: A big thanks for everyone who enjoys my post!!
Edit3: Thanks again for keeping the post alive.
Warlocks and hunters welcome if respectful!

Lots of people comment how underpowered titan was in Y1, I think it was a great pvp class. It has the best armor and grenades. If tuned and played correctly its also the fastest (needs control boost, max agility, and shoulder charge for movement). In Y1 titans also have arguably the best exotic pvp armor in the armentarium. Even though the melee range is the shortest by a fair amount, it feels the quickest for the double punch kills. While the super hulk smash inst the most offensive super you could still destroy a control point or heavy ammo like no one else. The super is best used defensively to stop another super from going on a kill streak. So even though it might only net you 1-2 kills it stops 2-6 kill streak from an enemy, so its a good team player. Counter play gents! I did just as good k/d wise on my titan as i did on hunter, they are just played differently
-
My hunter was my first, and when I started doing raids, I regretted not maiming a titan. Mid dark below I started to main a titan, and really only play sunbreaker since its like krieg from borderlands 2. If sunbreaker was nerfed I'd go back to striker for PvP.

We have battled though think and thin kept our K/Ds above 1.0 now we THE TITAN ORDERS WILL BURN TGE WORLD WITH OUR HAMMERS OR JUSTICE!!!
-
I want to start with saying your kinda right. Comparably titan was impractical in every way, striker was expected to run through bullets with no armor expected crapy juggernaut and things either past through WoD or destroyed it. We got things done with skill. But what nerf could even be considered fair. I mean they didn't really touch blade dance in the past, or did they? I was gonna during the start of house of wolves and came back 3 weeks before update 2.0 and arc blade was a little more manageable while still tanking through the heavy damage. I tested the armor buffs of each super mode with shoulder charge and they were even, tried not throwing hammer with greatly less effectiveness then arc blade, and found a video that shows clearly GG kills HoS in one shot. Personally I don't see a need for target seeking hammers but what replace it and not cause uproar. Just cause the hunters whine doesn't mean make it unbalanced. I don't know how it feels to use arc blade but from all that I've seen all clear a crowd effectively in their own way.

Day one Titan, never deleted.
-
Edited by Fur Hammerlock: 9/23/2015 4:36:49 PMBeta & Day One on my Titan that's there now. Never deleted and re-made to improve my KD - which sits at 1.59 I believe. He's my baby, and he's got over 3,000 Crucible games and 50,000 kills. I've managed to reach Top 1% in Kills, Games Played, Hours Played, DTR Rank and many more positions with my Titan all throughout Year One, while dealing with no blink, short melee ranges, decent grenades, situational supers and shitty perks. Now that Bungie has given Titan's some love when it comes to PvP-orientated classes, all the Hunters want it nerfed in to oblivion.
-
You're a true titan when you understand that everything great starts with weapons of light
-
Imo Titans are the least bitching class I'm main Titan and I e never bitched
-
A true titan hits arguments head on an does care about his subclass.
-
Titan since beta and Titan forever. I honestly feel like Hammer of Sol is a bit underpowered in PvE, in most strikes and heroics it's taking me nearly all my Hammer power to take down one yellow health! But it feels great in PvP, if any Bladedancer complains about Sunbreakers they're hypocrits.
-
Sunbreakers not OP, kids just can't handle that amount of swag.
If it really is OP, bring other supers up to its level
-
I play a warlock and I think they balance all three classes pretty good from what I see . Don't cry for a nerf step your game up.
-
Edited by Majora: 9/23/2015 3:38:41 PMIf it does get nerfed...just shows how much crying little bitches hunters and whorelocks are
-
Well only a certain kind of people main Titans. People that pick their fights and stay back when they need to. Can't even count how many Hunter v Warlock and Nerf threads I just sat back and watched.
-
It's not OP it's challenging, man up
-
only class w/ 1 hit melee - sure underpowerd. Can survive golden gun shot with an instant room killer that doesn't have to be aimed? ya, you had it real rough
-
Then you realize it's a super
-
Edited by Nalkysos: 9/23/2015 3:39:56 PMI'm absolutely loving the sunbreaker class. I could spend hours just sitting at the court of oryx, turning yellow-bar hive to ash. Edit: If anything, bring other supers up to the same level as the hammer, to hell with nerfs.
-
You know what. You're right. It's time to be done with these silly forum wars. Titans might be the master class/race, but we don't need to put it in everyone's face. if I fought to flawless 6 times with a striker, I'll do it again with a sunbreaker.
-
i think it needs a nerf to its health/damage resist so that it can still get one shot by high impact snipers if they get a headshot and golden gun, but other than that the class is completely fine IMO
-
Titans are Knights
-
As long as it doesn't get nerfed in pve I'm fine...
-
I have 1 of all 3 classes but a main Hunter and sometimes warlock but rarely Titan. I know they have been horrible in crucible and I'm glad they got a great super for crucible now. However, it may be slightly over powered but I'm not complaining I can deal with it as is lol
-
I knew people would bitch as soon as i saw that original video showing them off. We haven't been mobile with supers for a whole year and sunbreakers really threw a wrench in everything and balanced it out. The ones complaining are more than likely people who just ran the meta last year.
-
To many words must skip. But me no want 2nd nerf to class. Me like hammer
-
so hang on, the first titan power that is actually good in pvp IMO is considered OP? bitch please
