While I'm fairly certain Worms don't equal Ahamkara, it is curious to note that the likelihood of Worms being symbiotically attached to Dragons is likely. We know that the Ahamkara had vast amounts of knowledge at their disposal, which is why Warlocks hunted them. Couple this with the insight garnered from the Sorrows' and we likely see that the Ahamkara were originally a basic race like the Hive, but mutated into something OP over time and use of the Worms power. It's an interesting plotline for the future.
