"Hello my friend. You do not seem like you are from Unity...or this Earth, for that matter. However, I mean you no harm."
English
-
He looks over at you quizzically, and you notice that he does, in fact, look slightly alien. His irises shine a bright purple, and his ears are pointed, almost like the elves of myth. He smirks, "You are perceptive to notice that, and I am grateful that you mean me no harm." He sighs, a forlorn, weary sound, "It's certainly a nice change."
-
"I know nothing of your past, nor do I care to, either. However, if you would allow me to know, what is your business in Unity?"
-
"All business, good. If only I could answer your question." He looks into your eyes, and unnervingly says "You're planning something, aren't you? I can see it in your eyes, hear it in the way you speak and the words you choose. Tell me, what do you plot?"
-
"Perhaps I will tell you...however, you must prove yourself. I know from the look in your eye that you are cunning. However, if you can solve my riddle, you may know what I plan to do. This old one runs forever, but never moves at all. He has not lungs nor throat, but still a mighty roaring call. What is it that I speak of?"
-
"Hmm... A river? I've never been much of one for riddles, rather rhetoric and strategy."
I honestly have no idea. I'm hella bad at riddles.
-
"You say you do not know much about riddles, yet you have correctly answered with one of two possibly answers. I will tell you what i plan to do in this city, but only if you tell me one thing: Do you have a connection to this city, be it positive or negative?"
The other answer to the riddle was a waterfall
-
"I am a severer of connections, so to speak, to the Matriarchy. Perhaps it would be better if they were unaware of my presence. I came here on behalf of a friend who was from here, but I doubt that any councillors would trace me back to him. Please, proceed."
-
"I have come to Unity to...orchestrate the...untimely demise of one of the eight councillors. However, I do not know which one will fall victim to a tragic accident. Before I go any further, I need to know if you will betray me to the police, or stab me in the back when I walk out of this tavern. Will you keep my...secret?"
-
He pauses, considering his position. "I will not inform the police, that I swear upon. I am newly arrived here, so please inform me, why do you wish to cripple the Council?"
-
"I work for my King, and he has his own agenda. However, I do have my own stance on the matter, if I did not I would not accept the job. Unity will never truly be united under the New Republic. Everyone will be united under the Red King, the Red Baron. Then, we will rebuild." I walk out of the tavern, trusting that he will not harm me. I head over to the local tavern, where I check in, and enter my room.
-
Hmm... Once, my will was not my own, but now there are no strings on me. Ginger downs the glass, and then leaves the tavern. From what he had heard elsewhere, the Council was good, but he had no reason to mistrust this Red Baron... Nor reason enough to trust him. His mind was set: meet this Council, and choose his side as he would. For his side would be the victor: of that he was certain.
