"Thanks." Astrid hands Saywer the bombs which he places on the stone pillars. Right as he rigs the last one, there is a loud cocking of guns. "Stop right there!" A Red Baron leader shrieks, with hundreds of Red Barons, dressed in fur coats in aviator goggles behind him with loaded rifles. Sawyer makes a break for it, and Astrid follows as a volley of gunfire echoes down the hall.

Astrid fires at them while running, killing a few as they escape

They run down a hall, and then Sawyer shrieks. Oh no, his leg! It's caught in a bear trap! "NNNOOOOOOOOOO"
-
"Shit!" Astrid prys the bear trap off him and carries him on her back the rest of the way
-
Sawyer blind fires his gun until it is empty, holding the Barons off for a short time.

the reach the exit and Astrid presses a button, detonating the bombs
-
The pillars explode and the whole structure caves in on itself, killing everyone outside and leaving only rubble. "Now that, was fucking cool."
-
"Hell yeah, now we need to check your leg."
-
"It feels like shit."
-
Astrid puts him down and checks his leg
-
"Is it infected?"
-
"I don't think so."
-
"Cool beans. Just patch it up and we'll walk back to your forge."
-
"Wait..... I think a tendon is severed."
-
"What does that mean?"
-
"I don't think you're be able to walk."
-
"...."
-
"I'm guessing you're upset?"
-
"That I can never walk again?"
-
"We have two options, I can carry you or I can splice your genes with night remnant DNA."
-
"What will the DNA do?" Sawyer starts to cry, which turns into him grouting his teeth in anger.
-
"It will heal your leg but you will end up looking a little like me in the sense of claws and things like that."
-
"Carry me."
Xerox?
*1 week later* Sawyer sits at a cafe in Unity, sipping a coffee. His eyes are puffy and swollen from incessant crying and he wears a brace around his leg that attaches to his leather padded wheelchair. At least he's in new clothes and is clean. After waiting extensively, Astrid finally shows up with a coffee in hand. "Hello," Sawyer says weakly.
