Ever since getting the Graviton Forfeit, I cant stop using Shade step. When I use it the game feels like it should.
I propose that we have a dodge ability similar to shade step added for all characters. To keep "shade step" itself unique, I think maybe allowing hunters to phase through cover and enemies would make it exotic when worn with the helmet, and in the nightstalker subclass, maybe only cover.
For the Titans, a combat roll, similar to Mass Effect 3. No snap to cover, but just the tuck and roll soldier dodge.
Warlocks would have a dodge that envelops them in a field of subclass specific light, or maybe turns the warlock itself into light momentarily, and allows you to slide in a direction.
After using the Shade step, I have to applaud its design, because its extremely fun to use. In Shield Brothers for example, When Mau'aul comes out, I run up to the door as my hunter, wait for him to jump at me, DODGE backward, taking no damage.
Then I proceed to pull out my Shotgun and dodge left or right in a circle shooting him. It is immensely satisfying being untouchable until the ads arrive.
Let me end with a quick suggestion to improve the dodge, make it have 0.5 seconds of invulnerability, because currently you can be killed after rolling completely behind cover which defeats the purpose of dodging fire in the first place.
