Yup, sure do. The drug addict will have already pawned the item, gotten the money, and gotten high well before the police arrive to track down the stolen item. Believe me a stolen Xbox is at the bottom of the list of priorities. And if the family member chooses not to press charges, then the cops won't be investigating at all.

Then again, if they sold the item already it's a different story. Was just a ps3 though, easily replaced. They just need to focus on getting his uncle help or keeping him out of their house.
