All of our efforts, grind and luck for a whole year wasted, as our old gear is not upgrade-able. Raid gear, Trials gear, POE gear, even exotics... all trashed.
The new light system is horrible, making the game more grindy and meticulous, eliminating customization whatsoever. The infusion system was added as a band aid afterthought, but punishes you by reducing your light level by 20% and eating up your marks, glimmer and materials.
The new raid is worse than VOG and TDB combined, and twice as long. Rather than requiring skill, its just a huge test of patience.
Trials of Osiris is currently gone, and still no private match support or in game ranking. Rosters are still a mess, not organized by alphabet, and clan roster is still nonexistant.
The Taken King - TaKing Away your Gear, and giving you 5000% more grind and nerfs. RIP Gally, Icebreaker, and new Black Spindle

2 RepliesI'm still having fun but I agree with a lot of your points...as a huge PvP guy I'm a little disappointed that we still don't have a balanced experience, and still no private matches. The game seems to be slowing down and catering to the nerf crowd, crucible doesn't feel as fast or as skillful anymore....just my experience but I'm not having those great gun battles with ppl anymore, it's all pretty mundane and straight forward atm

2 RepliesOld Gear "trashed": Why don't you use the new gear? Just a thought. Most of it is pretty good. I understand 100% why Bungie wants to prevent people constantly using the same stuff, especially when they've clearly displayed that they want elemental primaries to be exclusive to hard-mode King's Fall - if there even are any. Why bother making new gear and perks when people cling to the most powerful items they already have? Very few people used anything but Fatebringer for Arc Burn for the entirety of Year 1. EXTREMELY few people used anything but Gjallarhorn for... anything remotely challenging in Year 1. That was a problem that shouldn't persist for another year. Light System is Horrible: No it isn't. It's the most rewarding system since launch. Infusing, while expensive, allows you to keep the gear YOU want throughout all activities. Ascension was just a case of "Have Etheric Light? Enjoy the level cap!"; there was absolutely no depth to that system. If you don't want to lose the 20% Light, don't infuse the highest gear straight away. Simple as that. Work it up slowly. New Raid is Worse: That's your opinion. I'm not even gonna bother to counter this. Trials "Gone": It's coming back early next year. I don't know the specifics, but I can think of a few logical reasons, mainly light balancing and weapon balancing, that may have them feeling apprehensive about rolling it out immediately. I admit that I want private matches, but it's... non-essential. Rosters are wholly unimportant. If playing the game and being made to actually break your routine once every year is a "grind" to you, stop playing. It helps when you play for fun, rather than select bits of virtual code.

Still confused how there isn't any customization now? They made infusing so you can keep your favorite gear. Increasing the chances that two people don't look exactly alike, with the inclusion of new shaders as well. Before you'd see every end game warlock/hunter/Titan wearing VoG gear on destiny drop, crota gear on TDB drop and Variks gear on the HoW drop + 1 exotic usually. Now you at least see people running raids/strikes being 290+ with different gear or weapons. It's rare I see anyone with the exact same load out that I have on my lock. Also the reason they got rid of year 1 guns, or most of them. Everyone used them, they wanted to encourage more weapon diversity. The same reason they buffed/nerfed weapons.

N that's why I didn't buy it. Enjoyed the game but find myself in these forums more so. Rip destiny for 2015 anyway, maybe destiny 2 won't be the beta

Dude, everyone loves this, the new raid is so much better, just more challenging which is probably what pisses your shitty ass off. The only thing you seemed more pissed about is that they took away your old domination guns that made you seem good. Get over it like everyone else, and start trying the new gear, it's more fun that way anyway

3 RepliesI quit destiny right after Crota HM released. I was happy to come back in destiny to find I wasn't a full dlc behind, even more happy to find all the stuff I had been grinding for in year one was put on a collection tab. Then even more happy when I found I could shard everything I collected and exchange old currencies for mats to get ahead in this dlc without losing anything. The only thing I don't like is the selection of year 2 exotics and how bad the recruitment section of the forums are

Lots more lore, a ton of new Grimoire. Destiny figures out [i]what[/i] it wants to be. A new patrol destination. A new raid. 3 new strikes. That's just 2 less then base Destiny. And most importantly... [b][u]Cabal![/u][/b]

You know a games good when all you have to complain about is your roster not being in alphabetical order... The Taken King has so much win you just look like a fool posting this. As for the raid I don't think opinions are valid until that person completes it.

3 RepliesYou must be new to the MMO thing. And I personally think the new infusion system has added way more customization than ever before. Any purple gear can be the highest light level, ANY of it. And the armor has a whole list of new perks it can roll with. The raid is less skill based than the other two..? You must've never done the new raid or never done the last two. If your team doesn't know what to do, you aren't downing oryx, or any boss, any time soon. The leaving behind of Year 1 weapons was made to rebalance Trials and Iron Banner. No more Dark Below Felwinter's with amazing rolls anymore.

1 ReplyHonestly, they've supplied us with enough new gear to make the old gear obsolete anyways. Careful infusing and a bit of grinding for high light rare armor can make any legendary your top item. Yeah it's a little more work than etheric light, but it can happen more often than you get that material anyways. The raid is well designed with a need for communication. Also drops a lot of gear. Court of Oryx is fun, quests are fun, swords are fun and crucible is FINALLY fun lol. To be honest, it kind of just feels like you're hunting for reasons to complain about something. TTK is a lot of fun right now, and that's all you need in a game.
