All of our efforts, grind and luck for a whole year wasted, as our old gear is not upgrade-able. Raid gear, Trials gear, POE gear, even exotics... all trashed.
The new light system is horrible, making the game more grindy and meticulous, eliminating customization whatsoever. The infusion system was added as a band aid afterthought, but punishes you by reducing your light level by 20% and eating up your marks, glimmer and materials.
The new raid is worse than VOG and TDB combined, and twice as long. Rather than requiring skill, its just a huge test of patience.
Trials of Osiris is currently gone, and still no private match support or in game ranking. Rosters are still a mess, not organized by alphabet, and clan roster is still nonexistant.
The Taken King - TaKing Away your Gear, and giving you 5000% more grind and nerfs. RIP Gally, Icebreaker, and new Black Spindle

I sort of agree. But, playing Taken King almost feels like an entirely different game, minus the longggg waits for matchmaking. I enjoy all the changes and honestly dont miss much about my old weapons or gear.

How is customization less than before? Find a piece of gear you like for looks, beef it up if its purple? Losing 20% of light is an exaggeration considering it seems random, I've had light take the same number as the item I'm using to infuse, even with a 10 point spread. The grind is alot more fun I think considering strikes get randomized a bit as far as enemies, and you can just grind Court of Oryx, which I dunno about u, but I find it fun as hell with some friends

5 RepliesLeaving all our old stuff behind was a good thing, wiped the slate clean, gave us something to work towards, rather than spending 5 minutes upgrading all our old stuff and sitting there thinking, well now what do I do? It got rid of the same boring loadouts I'd always see Fatebringer/BlackHammer/Gjallarhorn etc. It was boring and there was no variety. Ever since the Taken King came out, I've never seen such variety in Destiny before, people are actually using different weapons for once. It's like the Vanilla days all over again. The new light system is a hell of a lot better than the old one. Every point counts, rather than just bunches of 12s. Rather than suffering a 30% damage reduction for missing one light point, you only suffer, say a 2% reduction. The new raid is the best raid they've ever made. Actually has mechanics and while yes you can call the bosses bullet sponges, the way the fights work they need to be bullet sponges. Trials being gone right now is a good thing too. Lets them test the waters with Crucible, especially with the new subclasses being involved. Private matches and that sort of thing, I agree with you on. The Taken King - A hell of a lot better than what you're making it out to be.

I'm doing great without Y1 weapons. I'm enjoying the hell out of my sword and my new subclass. The raid is better than VoG and CE combined even tho I haven't finished it yet.

5 RepliesI mean a lot of people are 300+ light already, so technically it took people two weeks to reach max light and I'm assuming it will take another 2 to acquire all the good guns, which = it took them almost 1 year to give us a months worth of game play Tbh it's not worth 40, id say 20 would be a fair price

Also your biggest gripe is that the gear you earned is no long worthwhile? you seriously want to continue using all of your old exotics and weapons from year one? It has been a full year, aren't you tired of the same -blam!-ing weapons? Everyone used the same shit for a full year, a game doesn't move forward by being stuck in the past. It moves forward by changing and evolving. You have your opinions as well as everyone else. Turns out nearly everyone else doesn't view TTK as a failure but a step in the right direction. If you seriously think that they were going to fix everything that was wrong with the game then you'd be wrong. It will keep changing and they will probably replace the light system when they find something that works better as long with everything else. As for why trials is gone, if I had to put money on it, I'd say it is because they are waiting to see where the new classes and weapons stand in crucible before adding back their only competitive mode.

Well if they let u keep all ur old stuff it'll be house of wolves all over with just using same old raid weeps and all the old exotics they did this so u would adapt to new guns and I totally agree with the reason y. They do need to make it that u can get something out of scrapping all ur old stuff
