Yeah I agree that customization is damaged by TTK. Etheric Light was one of the best ideas Bungie came up with, because you could wear gear from VoG and still be the top rank. Now everything from Year 1 is worthless. All that Iron Banner gear, Trials gear? Raid gear? Worthless, mwuahaha!

Infusion is basically the same thing. You can wear whatever you want once its leveled. No different with Etheric light. Only difference is gear is not a year old.
