Trials was taken away for a reason. Luke Smith explained it on Gamespots recent Split Screen series, you should definitely give it a listen - shares a lot of insight into the changes in TTK. The infusion system is by far the best solution to everyone looking the same. Yes it's not transmog, but damn it's a nice system. If it bothers you so much, return the game and go into game development yourself and make something better.
