Before you'd see every end game warlock/hunter/Titan wearing VoG gear on destiny drop, crota gear on TDB drop and Variks gear on the HoW drop + 1 exotic usually. Now you at least see people running raids/strikes being 290+ with different gear or weapons. It's rare I see anyone with the exact same load out that I have on my lock. Also the reason they got rid of year 1 guns, or most of them. Everyone used them, they wanted to encourage more weapon diversity. The same reason they buffed/nerfed weapons.
