Sunbreakers could use some "minor" adjustment, but it's no where near as bad as people are making it. They let out a loud audio queue when entering their super mode. Yet people just stand there, they don't turn and break the engagement and pull the Titan into a choke point or bottleneck, they just engage the Titan like they would any other target. They don't team fire. They don't use their equipment or cover wisely. Literally every tanking clip I see of a Titan Sunbreaker racking up multikills it's because people are making themselves sitting ducks.
I'm at work, but I'm sitting on footage of a vid showing tactics for shutting down both HoS and Stormtrance. Should be up this week sometime.
Also, people keep comparing HoS to golden gun, saying HoS is like having a gg with double the shots and health regen on kill with tracking ammo. They forget Gg has more range and accuracy, overpenetrates, combustion can instakill nearby enemies, and all that can be done without being in the middle of the fray.
HoS takes skill to be accurate with cross map. Ideally you need to put yourself up close to the action, opening yourself up to team fire.
I'm not saying it doesn't need tweaked, I'm just saying it's nowhere near as big a deal as people are making it. You hear "dong," you turn and run, drag the Titan toward teammates and a chokepoint. Team fire. Use cover. Make the Titan run out of time before turning and engaging. Lots of ways to counter. Won't work every time, it's a super. But you CAN outplay HoS with just a little bit of sense and strategy.

Edited by Fenderslasher: 9/28/2015 11:45:01 AMWord. It's actually kind of fun watching players scurry away when I break out the hammer but makes it a pain to lock down the kills. It's still a challenge to use it in a way that you can take in the kills and not expose yourself to unnecessary danger. I've been bow shot out/ blade dance traded, fist of havocd, suppressed, snipe/shottied, etc. all the same tricks still apply. In fact I've been telling the moany, whiny players the same exact thing you said. "When you hear that hammer just go for a lap and draw him right in" works like a charm. I like to go for a lap and then come up behind him and his buddies as it runs out and shotgun spree the lot of them while they look for me and my mates frantically. Any super will thrive When used on a messy team of sitting ducks for the picking, the first two days stormcaller was out I was like "whoa, when do they NOT wipe a team". But then again I'm good and had a routine shortly after. I hate that everyone is wising up and running for the hills it genuinely makes it really hard even with max agility and skating to wrack up points, it's still better to use it offensively or defensively on a fixed point.

Vanguard you're a beast man, good to see you helping so many people through gaming. You're one of the few PVP players that I actually enjoy watching. Keep up the good work.

This.

When I hear enemy activating this super, I go hiding as far as possible.
-
Have you noticed that ex Halo players tend to retreat when they know they might not win and lead the enemy into a choke point, but regular players just stand out in the open?
-
This should be the answer everytime this OP shhhhh is said. I suck at pvp but I've killed these "Immortals" You don't try to have a high noon shootout with Valus Tauruc do you? Besides there's always room for a suppression grenade =)
-
Finally someone that gets it, thank u sir for letting people actually know that THIS IS A SUPER.
-
Use tactics? What are we. Smart?

True words from a true beast.

Yet they stand on a capture point across the map and get instakilled by a flying hammer. Totally their fault. They should have broken the engagement.
-
It's like firing a no tracking rocket across a map. Low chance of success.
-
Except it tracks. And has no range penalty. And detonates in proximity. And he knows people are there. And doesn't need line of sight. SB ver hard much skill.
-
It curves like a tracking grenade. It doesn't track like a rocket. It has an arc, it doesn't fly straight. It's as difficult to judge a long throw with the hammer as it is with a grenade. Total "hail mary" nonsense. You can get lucky throwing a tripmine grenade cross map too. Saw a video where a guy got the "first blood" medal about 2 seconds into the match that way.
-
The sticky grenades that do a 90 degree magnet mode to people's face? Not helping the case that sun breaker is op
-
The sticky grenades that barely catch on and slingshot around the target a good portion of the time? Yes.
-
You've got your grenades mixed up. Those seek, the stickies magnetize. Like the stupid hammers
