Benevolent anything would be better than self serving government. Even in democracy you need people to desire power enough to stand. I'd rather someone be born and forced into it (with the compensation of vast wealth) through monarchy than those who desire power over us to have it. Edit: I didn't consider the "human nature not a factor" element as that means different things to different people. To some it means those humans in power wouldn't be self serving, some might feel that it means humans wouldn't care about feelings and would just act logically according to the principle of least harm; others might say it means that those in power would give total freedom to those under them... It is effectively pointless considering it. So I didn't.
