Just post to the forums. If you have a decent level you'll get picked up. Watch videos before hand too. You can try to blind raid but if you have never done a raid yet it won't be for you. I wanted too but I couldn't find a group. First group I stumbled on I asked about the mechanics, and did my job. I ran most of the raid this past Friday. I beat the sisters on sat and finished oryx today. Just don't lie, and tell them you are new. Also don't expect to be carried. I tried oryx 4-5 times each with a different group. There was always 1-2 guys per group that just couldn't get the concept down or they would keep dying. It's no fun when one guy isn't carrying their weight. I grouped up with some Brits this morning and we ran it first try. It was refreshing compared to the 4-5 times prior. It was the highlight of the kings fall raid. Everyone was having fun, cracking jokes and it went smoothly. We knew what to do, and did work.

  • The "Just don't lie" part is my favourite thing there. When me and my friends would get LFG randoms to run VoG hard, we'd ALWAYS ask "Has everyone done the raid before?" as we'd think, if you're doing hard mode then you've at least done normal first. Walk before you can run. People would very often either keep their mouth shut or just lie and say they've done it before. Even though we'd get on Destinytracker and see that they'd have 0 completions. We don't mind if people haven't done it before. Me and my friends are fine with teaching people and doing a little carrying if needs be. But please, just be honest with us. If you lie and die, then we'll get annoyed. If you're honest and you die, we know that you're finding your feet.

  • Agreed. I've done VoG and CE 50 times combined. I posted this Friday it was my first kings fall raid and I wanted to go in blind or be taught depending on the groups. I assumed with all the post of people saying that you had to be 295+ (I was 291) and be experience in the raid that I'd never be picked up due to putting this in my post. I was in a team within 5-10 mins. I have believed and still believe most of the complainers are one of these things: wanting to be carried, aren't good, a liar, or haven't actually tried to find a group.

Indeed. Last week me and my friends got to Golgeroth but didn't finish him. This week we ended up beating the raid. But afterwards, I realised I needed the C.Fragment before and after Golgeroth, so I just went on LFG to look for a group with a Warpriest CP. As soon as I got in, I asked who's done it yet and who hasn't. Half of us did, half didn't. One guy who had done it before didn't understand it fully though. But, they were honest! So me and the other "experienced" (put in quotes cause its still early days...relative experience I guess) guy took our time to explain and told people what to do if this happens, and what to do if that happens. Everyone was happy and we cleared the Warpriest in one go. Same for Golger. Only me and that other guy had cleared it and even then, he used a different method to me. I cleared it using the "All 6 orbs" method and he cleared it using the "front left orb only" method. We decided to go with his as it's less chaotic, so even then, I learnt something new! I listened and asked questions when I was unsure, and I learnt. Took us a bit of time, but we did it. Exactly the same thing happened for the Sisters too. Different tactic from my previous clear to his, but we ended up doing it. Unfortunately by then, some of us had to drop out so we abandonded it there. But at least the rest of the guys learnt what to do! They can find other groups now with messages of "I've cleared the Sisters, but that's as far as I've got" and hopefully they'll get picked up, as it's still like 80% of the raid, and shares a massive chunk of similar mechanics to the Oryx fight. Next reset, when me and my friends try, I'm sure we'll have to get a random or 2 in (due to different schedules n junk), we won't ask for experience or anything. But as long as people are honest with us when they drop in, we won't care at all.
