Look at my previous posts will show you I exactly figured that the taken king is giving 1/3rd the content of vanilla destiny for 2/3rds the price, and was cheaper and somewhat easier to make than vanilla destiny due to various assets being reused such as textures, models, guns, armour, etc...
I also expected vanilla players would be locked out of more features due to ttk specific strikes and missions when it comes to the daily heroic strike list and nightfall, what I didn't expect was just how many features were locked out for vanilla players AND those that got the first two dlcs.
In regards to replacing all the gear many worked hard to get, Bungie is treating the game like a traditional rpg mmo, it's also very similar to borderlands.
It's silly to think you would keep all those weapons and armour you spent time getting as more and more content is released.
My friend plays ff14 almost religiously, like everyday for at least 8 hours of you were to average out.
Yeah he cracks out on it... Anyway
He spent ALOT of time getting some of the best gear in the game, for every class, even crafting jobs.
Expansion came out recently, guess what? By level 55 out of 60 (10 new levels in the expansion) he pretty much replaced all that gear he spent countless hours getting in raids and such, with gear he got from the new story quests.
So I just laugh whenever someone complains about not being able to carry over year 1 weapons.
