Warframe discussion

Is this game any good? I have heard from many sources that Warframe is PtW and not worth the download. I've also heard that it's the beast game that has ever existed.

The game is not pay to win, the only things platinum buys you are cosmetics, rushing crafting tasks, extra item slots and where there is the biggest problem, instantly buying items. The thing everyone claims is that you can log in for the first time and have all the best items, when you can't, almost all items, excluding war frames, require you be at a specific "master level" to buy and use, or you get "XP locked" (I personally have a soma prime blueprint I would love to use but can't as I'm short) even with platinum the game will say no, and getting levels takes forever as you have to gain levels with weapons and warframes/companions to gain mastery points (this dosnet sound bad but you need lots) So even if you have tons of money, you can't buy anything till you play a good amount of hours

you've heard bullshit on both those fronts. Pay to win? no. that implies that those who fork out for platinum are always ahead of those who don't. completely false, as platinum merely subverts the Grind. those who pay still end up on the same level as those who don't. the better weapons and frames (Prime Versions) CAN be bought, but since it is rather expensive, most opt for the grind, which is really not that hard. I for one have never bought anything other than Slots and a few rare parts on trading with platinum, and I'm better off than some of the people I've seen put small fortunes in this game. if you don't want to invest money, but are willing to invest time, you still end up the same place as others. no one has a distinct advantage just because of platinum. let's say for example, I want to get a new weapon. I can either buy it with platinum, or I can use the in-game credits earned from missions to buy a blueprint and build it myself. If I buy with plat, I get the assembled weapon, but I still have to level it and upgrade it. if I choose to buy the blueprint, I have to find materials and craft it in the foundry. once it's built, I have exactly the same weapon Mr Moneybags with Platinum has; an unlevelled weapon that needs to be used so it can be upgraded. Mr Moneybags has his gun before I do, but we both still have to level the gun up, and you cannot buy levels. you can buy upgrades, but you still have to use the weapon first. best game ever? well, I wouldn't say that. it isn't perfect. there are glitches and bugs in it just like any other game. it has a few flawed mechanics, and it can be a bit overwhelming to the new player. but if you give it time, try to learn and understand what the game is about, you can then decide whether or not it is a game that's right for you. personally, I LOVE Warframe, but I'm not going to act like it's perfect, because it's not. TLDR answers: It's not pay to win. It's a fun game, with a few flaws here and there, IMO. it's free, so I say give it a try and see what you think!

    • The game is not pay to win, it's 90% cooperative (the exception being conclave with is pretty broken IMO). If you dish out money the only thing it does is help you build and acquire things faster, Platinum is also a tradable currency so you can easily make plenty of it without paying a dime if you're willing to put in the work. As for the game, it's a lot of fun. The game play is fast paced and the controls are very smooth. There's a large variety of weapons and frames to choose from and they all bring something different to the table. The game is also, However, an incredibly large grind. All the gear needs to be crafted which can take 12-hours for weapons and parts to 3 days for frames (plus the added time it takes to make the parts). You also have to be able to grind for the materials to craft them in the first place which can be a major pain depending on the material. The loot system is also RNG annoying as it is with most RNG games so getting that one piece you so desparetly need can become a major hassle (SCREW YOU NYX PRIME CHASSIS) All in all its still an enjoyable game to play, it's free so you don't really have anything to lose trying it out.

    • It's an overall great game. It is a bit pay2win in the beginning, though once you have about half the planets unlocked that becomes negligible. The missions are also extremely repetitive, which is both good and bad. For a free game it's forgivable. Personally, the only reason I play it is for building a dojo with my friends. It's a very time-consuming task but it's fun as hell. We almost have our research labs all built.

      • It isn't pay to win the best gear in game isn't on the in game market plus anything you can buy you can fairly easily build. There are also regular updates and many diferent weapon types. It's a fantastic game overall and the devs are good at communicating with players.

I'd say it's worth your time, Ive been playing for just over a year now and I love the game and its community. Maybe the biggest plus of the game is its very healthy fan base as well as developers. Worth your download but try to get friends to play it with you to make it more fun in the early game. If you get it for ps4, I can help ya level stuff as well as farm for rare resources :P

            • It's a lot of fun. The only time I've spent money on the game was for limited-time Cosmetics for my Warframe. Other than that I have never used real world money to buy weapons or Warframes

              • Its not really pay to win... You can get anything with enough grinding. Only issue i had was the game is entirely about the grind , once you have everything i got kind of bored with the game. Definitely a fun free to play though

                • Oh yes, if you have no game to grind on, then that's a good one to play. The Equinox is a fun warframe to grind for.

                • Steve the bandit and sora orth just explained it the best, try it and see. At the beginning its a lot to learn and can be overwhelming but once you get a hold of it it's pretty good and fun too. When people say it's boring switch up the missions and frames to get a different feel.
