Bladedancers were the bane of the crucible in fall of 2014. Invisible, damage reduction, fast, and instant killing. Till people figured out Felwinter's Lie and Fist of Panic. People found the counter. Most of the time it was a powerful shotgun with 1 or 2 shots would stop a bladedancer.
Bladerdancers and Sunbreakers are the same thing. You are just seeing more sunbreakers because they are new. There are plenty of counters to the Sunbreaker. Its just going to be a while before people settle on the best.
1. Hammer of Sol is broadcasts itself clearly- consider running. That titan is going to be aggressive, out run them or hide and then ambush them when it wears off.
2. Nova Bomb or Fist of Havoc-Yeah, they will just get killed out right with these cancelling supers
3. Shadowshot- Silence them, this turns off all supers
4. Rockets are the answer to everything.
5. SNIPERS- If shotguns are the answer to the bladedancer snipers are the answer to a HoS. Hammers fall quick and are only useful up to medium range. If you are killed at long range by a hammer... they got lucky or you didn't move.
6. Good old group fire.
All these tactics except snipers will work well on a Sunbreaker, just switch sniper with shotgun and they work well on Bladedancers too.
EDIT: Bladedancers were barely touched in the year they have been out. and when the most significant nerf happened it wasn't to the class or the super it was to a jump ability that is used by 2 classes. Bladedancers still have a great super for PVP and just like Sunbreakers are average in end game PVE. The damage reduction of the bladedancer is more than enough that if you don't have a high impact shotgun, super, or heavy, they are going to kill you. Guess what 3 things also take out a sunbreaker? in a super?
EDIT 2: Note there is legendary armor that boosts defense even more when using a solar sub class. If a Titan (who already has the most armor in the game) stacked Solar Sub-Class armor + Highest Defense Rating + Armor Buff when using HoS (which is a % of total armor). YES a Titan can become a super tank. That doesn't mean its broken it means that player has a better build than yours.

I bump to this. I run all three classes and I have to agree there isn't a point in nerfing HoS if the Bladedancer doesn't go down with it. They're the same style of class with the same style of counters.

This community is basically if it kills you twice or more, it's OP and should be nerfed IMMEDIATELY. People said GG and blade dancer were OP. Even though blade dancer did get nerfed, we were used to it in crucible. Honestly if it didn't get nerfed I'd be so used to either almost killing them or killing them it wouldn't make a difference. Especially after so long. If sunbreaker gets nerfed, I could care less. I personally rely more on my gunplay and grenades more than my super anyways.

Except blade dancers had their shield reduce two months in and they were made slower and less tanky. If HoS lets you compete in crucible, would you be fine with Blade dancer going back to its previous vanilla stats?

It's not the strategy you need, it's what they remove. Salvage match? Say goodbye to the relic. Seriously, the special just lasts too long. Skirmish? Hah yeah right, good luck Any other matches? as long as only 2 opponents can throw hammers, you can win

The thing with hammer is they have more health, more damage output, more range obviously. And along with it health regen. So did blade but wasnt good for the amount of armour. HoS can easily take out a sniper from long distance and regen all the health that was taken down by it. Very op. Nerf Idea- less armour. Less hammer spam. There you go. Just because supers are ment to be great doesnt mean they cant be OP

I'm managed to escape or kill Sunbreakers doing Hammer Time more than once. Admittedly, I die more often than I escape or kill them. It's a bad-A Super. But it's not unstoppable. Arc Blade is pretty comparable. I think Stormtrance may be the more formidable Super, I have only survived that once (and the warlock was already in the red when I opened up on them).

Dude why do people think blade dancers were so OP? Shotgun melee or a few shots with a primary and melee take care of them. It really depends on the skill of the player. They aren't hard to kill.

You do realize that blade dancers weren't "Countered" as you say, but rather nerfed, heavily too. Their damage reduction was severely reduced in 2014. So if you're saying that blade dancers and sunbreakers are the same thing, then you're effectively saying sunbreakers should be nerfed as well. Learn what the -blam!- the shit you say means before you let it run out of your hands and unto your keyboard.
