Bladedancers were the bane of the crucible in fall of 2014. Invisible, damage reduction, fast, and instant killing. Till people figured out Felwinter's Lie and Fist of Panic. People found the counter. Most of the time it was a powerful shotgun with 1 or 2 shots would stop a bladedancer.
Bladerdancers and Sunbreakers are the same thing. You are just seeing more sunbreakers because they are new. There are plenty of counters to the Sunbreaker. Its just going to be a while before people settle on the best.
1. Hammer of Sol is broadcasts itself clearly- consider running. That titan is going to be aggressive, out run them or hide and then ambush them when it wears off.
2. Nova Bomb or Fist of Havoc-Yeah, they will just get killed out right with these cancelling supers
3. Shadowshot- Silence them, this turns off all supers
4. Rockets are the answer to everything.
5. SNIPERS- If shotguns are the answer to the bladedancer snipers are the answer to a HoS. Hammers fall quick and are only useful up to medium range. If you are killed at long range by a hammer... they got lucky or you didn't move.
6. Good old group fire.
All these tactics except snipers will work well on a Sunbreaker, just switch sniper with shotgun and they work well on Bladedancers too.
EDIT: Bladedancers were barely touched in the year they have been out. and when the most significant nerf happened it wasn't to the class or the super it was to a jump ability that is used by 2 classes. Bladedancers still have a great super for PVP and just like Sunbreakers are average in end game PVE. The damage reduction of the bladedancer is more than enough that if you don't have a high impact shotgun, super, or heavy, they are going to kill you. Guess what 3 things also take out a sunbreaker? in a super?
EDIT 2: Note there is legendary armor that boosts defense even more when using a solar sub class. If a Titan (who already has the most armor in the game) stacked Solar Sub-Class armor + Highest Defense Rating + Armor Buff when using HoS (which is a % of total armor). YES a Titan can become a super tank. That doesn't mean its broken it means that player has a better build than yours.
EDIT 3: http://xboxclips.com/GHOST+9o5/b6f770f4-fe93-4f9a-8e94-23c5e342e9f1- High Impact snipers require 1 Crit+ extra to drop a SunBreaker in super. However Sunsingers regularly take a shotgun to the face and live https://youtu.be/bq_mPCWeylc. Also lets not forget that group fire is no match for a blade dancer https://youtu.be/LIFFy-OYOUY
EDIT 4: Sunbreakers can barely survive a single Golden Gun Shot https://youtu.be/7-lVT6W9eSA?t=7m Time to Buff GG in PVP. HOWEVER we do not know what armor this Sunbreaker is wearing. There is armor that buffs solar sub classes and/or reduces solar damage.

Snipers one shot head a sunbreaker...
-
Can't wait when bungie nerf the sunbreaker. The forum will explode.
-
1. Kind of hard to hide when you can't get off radar and their hammers have enough AoE to completely prevent cover from working. 2. And if you don't like those subclasses? 3. If you have time to shadowshot a Sunbreaker then they certainly have time to toss a hammer at your barely moving hunter. I guess a trade still counts as a counter though. 4. If there's no heavy? 5.Not everyone can snipe. I guess that means not everyone can kill Sunberakers. *sad face* 6. Sure, so long as the group isn't within 15 feet of each other. Otherwise that hammer is gonna blow them all up and chain fiery death to the survivors. All while healing the titan who threw it. As for you edit, you can't kill a sunbreaker with a shotgun beatdown. Or a high impact sniper headshot. Or two hits from arc blade. Or one shot from Golden Gun. The problem isn't that they're so broken. The problem, is that they're so broken without having to use exotics or extra perks to be the best at everything.

Edited by PeytonicMaster: 9/29/2015 7:21:18 AMSunbreakers destroying bladedancer cus bladedancers have to get close and spam melee swings just for get you more fasters even if you lossing lot of energy sunbreakers dont do that you just get them in long range and they cant even touch ya but if you do stupid that dont know how to use sunbreaker with out focusing in front of bladedancer you fučked train first if you ready to destroy supers like bladedancer stormcaller sunsinger even nightstalker ( dodge their shadow shots and disable their orb )

When trials returns we'll get back to the good 'ol "blink is op" posts
-
Blink was nerfed which was crucial for the Bladedancer to succed
-
You must have not played when the game came out. BDs were monsters. They got a huge nerf to damage reduction. There were times when I shot a BD up close twice with a shotgun and they would not die. Now a single shotgun blast can kill them in some cases. They can be easily 1 manned. It was near impossible in the past. Sunbro will eventually be nerfed. Bungie can't make balanced supers. This is likely why they came up with Mayhem. They will take the data about which supers are most effective and reduce them somehow to compensate. All because they don't do any real community testing.
-
Not even close sun breakers are blade dancer defense but stronger, with golden gun RNG and last longer. The fact that sun breaker is a force even in pve which blade dancer is not compounds how broken it is.
-
I wasn't here a year ago, but I always get responses "that's what you get for being op a year ago" umm I started 3 weeks ago but thanks
-
A year from now we will be reminiscing about the sun breaker being op
-
Stormcaller can kill them if you know how to strafe really good
-
-
My rectal cavity remembers...
-
Remember a year ago when I'd qs a blade dancer and laugh? Yeaaaa
-
Even the LDR doesn't one shot headshot a sunbreaker, which is a bit ridiculous, considering it will stop any other super, including an Titan mid fist of havoc
-
Running won't work because they have range. But I've found leaping up in the air and shooting them from above works well because mostly sun breaker relies on splash damage and the hammers arc makes it harder to aim at moving, airborne targets.
-
Very true but I we still haven't seen any sun breakers on pvp doing the sun charge. Successfully in the crucible yet. There's still time for experimenting to be done
-
Bump because your the only one on here with any common sense. Thank you.
-
Now they're squishy, invisible marshmallows.
-
Machine guns work too, but not if they see you first.
-
Edited by Kurasaki: 9/29/2015 4:11:14 AMBump...seriously though the same people screaming bloody murder towards hammer of sol are prolly the same people that shot their primary at a chopper gunner in COD and wondered why it wasnt working... High impact snipers work eveytime, sure it needs to be a headshot...but its a KILLSTREAK/SUPER...not something they can use the whole game...you should have to go above and beyond in order to kill someone in a super whether it be with a headshot from a sniper, or simple good ol' teamwork...
-
Arc Blade was nerfed and is much easier to counter, seeing as how you have to be close to kill the enemy Snipers aren't effective against HoS, because you will shoot them once and they run away They can take rockets for days (Every other super gets killed by 1 rocket)

What's a "blade dancer"? Sorry im a year two noob. I would also like to know, who is crota? I'm really curious.

I thought rogues would have figured out how to play by now. . Guess I was mistaken. They have proved that they just chose hunter for the cheap pvp -I originally chose a hunter because I normally run the "pvp class" in pve- for the added challenge.. and insight .. I'm a rogue in every other game - but here.. hunters give rogues a bad name. All I see are the tears of the ones who've gotten a taste of their own brand of cheese and they can't take it like a man. Really makes me want to play my titan even more now. Who knows- maybe that's why titans are front and center on the box art for ttk- Maybe they want us to play titans because there's too many selfish pvp bums running around trying to solo every pvp match.

anyone could easily argue that the bladedancer class is still very powerfull. even with the new classes that just came out with the taken king dlc. even with these new classes a blade dancer could easily hold its own. people have been playing with the blade dancer class since the game came out witch means that there are more skilled players using bladedancer rather than all of the new classes that are being used by mostly people that are unexperienced in that class. i currently use the bladedancer class with my hunter and have been doing very well with it. I have tried the new classes though just to not seam bias, but i still fit really nicely in the blade dancer class. also the new classes are full of very new items and weapons especially all the new supercharged weapons like the light bow in the nightstalker class. these can be very confusing for new players and take a huge amount of new strategy to be able to wield them effectively. also the new grenades and new abilities can be used in many different ways which could take a large amount of time to be able to use well enough. dont get me wrong someone who would be able to put in the time might be able to do very well with these new classes but i just think that the blade dancer class is just a class tht will always stick around and that people will be dominating while using for very long time.
