How the -blam!- are people getting 297+ blues?
Seriously? I can't get anything above 295 to spawn. The highest purple I have gotten is 298
Edit: This includes CoO
Edit 2: I am at 291 light I usually get equips anywhere between 265 and 292 light equips. This included CoO (even in tier 3), decoding engrams, and Heroic Strikes. I do however appreciate that people are at least trying to help me out with this.
Edit 3: Went and ground CoO since I had a ton of runes. Got up to 294! Really do appreciate the advice people.

1 ReplyYou have to be a higher light level. It's based on your current level so you won't break anything over 295 if you're at 290

I have been lead to believe the defense of armor drops is rng based on your current light lvl. So always wear your highest light lvl gear when opening engrams.

Wear your best gear that brings up your light level and decrypt one engram -> character -> look at the new gear that was decrypted -> if it has a better light level than your current equipped one equip it then rinse and repeat with the next engram. And kill shit. RNG will bless you.

They will drop. I got 2 so far. You wanna try not to use them until whatever you're feeding it to is 297 though. At 296 it'll turn into a 298. And save them for something good. Don't waste them on a non tracking launcher or low power sniper. You'll just be feeding them to something better in a rush later and end up with something lower than 299.

I got a 300 blue cloak for my hunter. It looks absolutely terrible but it's the highest one I can get. Decoded 7 legendary class items and they all turned into < 265

The level of your dropped items depends on your light level when decrypting/ picking them up.

Random drop. Make sure your character is the highest level possible when handing in engrams. I've got a 299 blue on my warlock.

They just drop every now and again. It's the new RNGesus. Exotics may now be obtainable through hard work but getting them past 290 will be down to the gods of RNG!!

5 RepliesAs my light level has passed 295, most of my engrams are now decrypting into 260 attack and defense items. Not sure why.

It's all RNG. I decrypted at least 30 blue engrams, maybe 5 or 6 were above 290. Everything else was decrypting lower than my actual light.

If you're running strikes at 300 light you'll get weapons and armor around that light level on drops. If your light level is lower, the weapons will be lower.
