I don't think we are playing the same game. Cause it took well more than 2 hours to finish solo for me.
And all of that leading up to the final encounter on phobos that then gives a quest to defeat all the raid bosses.
But what do I know? Maybe I'm just blinded by all the new "content".

I think its more just the novelty effect of it being new. I mean think about it, we already know Destiny is greatly designed around Human Behavior Manipulation techniques. The game up to this point didn't really set the bar too high for itself as is, so when TTK came out and people began playing it, of course by simple comparison you're going to get blown away by it. It seems like a lot, but its really not. Those quests are just there to stretch out all the previous content, though for the "new players" who are just coming into Destiny with the Legendary Edition, they are going to be the ones who benefit the most from it. That is until come Year 3 when everything they are doing and all the gear they are collecting is once again reset and made obsolete.

"The shtick of Destiny" What is the shtick of Destiny? It's about stuff. Getting new stuff and leveling that stuff up and then getting more stuff and leveling that stuff up. Am I right? Call it the grind or the hamster wheel or whatever. But new content means new stuff. And so I must pursue the acquisition of exotic weapons and armor. Because only then will I be ready? Ready for what? I don't know. The worm gods haven't told me. It's why I play in the court of Oryx. To get stuff, so that I can infuse other stuff, so I can be ready. On a side note, I was playing rift last week and got awarded a house of wolves weapon with year 2 stats and infusion. The NL Shadow 701X. So it's possible that year 1 weapons are going to be slowly introduced into year 2. If you want, go look at my warlock. I'll have it equipped.

Only problem there being that you'd essentially be farming all over again to get those same weapons that you already have. Its just too big of a thing to forgive. Especially when all the signs point to it being a repeat trend every year with the game. Or every DLC, even, like the Dark Below reincarnate.

Remember now, they don't want your forgiveness. They just want you to play.
