so for what reason are we required to do pvp in order to acquire the exotic swords? I for one, hate with a burning passion the pvp in the game. Sure I understand its an exotic but why as a pve player do I have to force myself into an aspect of the game I hate. I live in regional NSW, Australia and our internet is crap. despite bungies fixes I still lag like hell during pvp which is contributory to my hatred for it. but why is there not a pvp and pve questline in order to obtain the swords. this would be so much more balanced for the community. I have been on the receiving end of people hunting me down in pvp to stop me doing the quest particularly by people whom have finished it. at the very least why is there not a mode solely for the quest where everyone uses the swords and cannot be accessed without that quest. this quest may be fine if you can manage to get 6 of your friends into the same rumble match but until I can do that. I'm going to be on the verge of smashing shit around me. from being targeted. and having to trudge through this honestly stupid part of the quest.
Honestly bungie, if you swear the game is a shooter not an mmorpg remove the pve content. and il know never to play it again.

If you want something, then work for it... the rules and requirements are irrelevant...

I feel you, bro. Crucible was never my favorite part of the game and I don't think anyone should ever be forced to play it if they want to receive these new exotics. In other words, I'm all for an all-swords Crucible mode. I'm not sure how balanced it could be if other people are running around with the exotics, however. Bolt-Caster's arc projectile has a limit to its range, but it can still easily make it across at least 50% of most Crucible maps. Maybe legendary swords only? Disable the specials attacks?

Ok first, the exotic sword quest does not require you to go out and get 25 kills in a single game, drag it out if you have to. Get angry? Take a break, nothing is forcing you into crucible and you will play better when you are not stressed. It is achievable for everyone, just sometimes it quicker for others. Secondly, the remark about it being an mmorpg, that's not entirely true. Destiny is more a mix between an mmo and a shooter. Although it may have small characteristics of a rpg, it doesn't have even come close to being a rpg, it is a shooter at heart with an mmo appearance.
