Is there some way to subscribe to one of a clan's forum threads and receive app notifications when someone makes a post to that particular thread? What follows below is my problem as an administrator.
Okay so if you have an fairly large and active clan this might sound familiar. There doesn't seem to be any clean, platform-agnostic way to get real-time activity recruitment that isn't a pain in the ass for more casual members.
On PS4, we have a massive psn chat where people just write into when they want to do something. Everyone gets the message and people play. Problem there is that it starts to get annoying when you get 30 psn alerts in 15 minutes while watching Netflix.
Our Xbox One members are huddling up into small groups instead of working as a clan because they don't have a centralized place to post.
We tried using the Bungie companion app but due to the lack of notifications no one wants to use it. It's great just to be killing time on patrol and then suddenly be recruited for a random raid or prison run. We have two forum posts (XB/PS) where people can start an activity, but without live notifications they are pretty much useless because no one gets the message that you're recruiting for a game mode.
As the clan founder I want a unified and clean experience for all members but the Bungie app is seriously lacking both in user controls and administrative tools. Giving all members the ability to subscribe to a forum post will let them be notified when events happen or be left alone when they are playing a different game.
Me and the other admin are thinking of using a third party chat app, but that introduces an extra layer of complexity that we want to avoid since this is a game and it shouldn't feel like work just to get into some clan chatter.
