Its difficult to say this without sounding rude but a lot of those year one guns were without equal and are unobtainable to new players stuff like longbow synthesis, the elemental raid weapons rerollable high impact shout guns, thorn, ghorn if these kinds of guns had come into year two then no one would really care about then new weapons endgame pvp when it returns would still have shot package shotguns and thorn(its a still guaranteed three shot) for the sake of balance these weapons needed to be left behind that dosnt mean it wouldnt be cool to have some of them espc VOC and Fatebringer but for the sake of the experience it makes sense

Elemental raid weapons are still available. I ran VoG with a group last week for shits and giggs and got VoC for the first time.

You're forgetting one MAJOR thing; All those weapons will ALWAYS be usable in Crucible... which is the only area where any imbalances have a negative effect on players. Leaving Year 1 gear behind only hurts PVE players, in arenas where there is no such thing as "overpowered." Plus, Bungie already nerfed the most obvious offenders, so for the most part, your point has already been adressed. Does that make sense?

So you are saying that vision of confluence, fate bringer, found verdict and the such are not at the top tier as far as their respective classes go and therefore are the only logical choice in the endgame if they came forward the new guns would be redundant save for exotics and raid weapons do you understand that. As soon as etheric light was introduced to the game the first thing that happened was the ascension of vanilla weapons thats not the way it should have worked people should have been looking for new guns to use etheric light on instead we end up with pve as stale as pvp loadouts like VOC blackhammer and ghorn Ill also metion im not actually a fan of infusion as a progression system either but thats a post for another day
