What game brought you to this site? Halo? Marathon? Destiny?
Well, if you didn't play one of those(DESTINY) all your past invested time on this forum is worth nothing. People like Das Boot and Mad Max(even if you don't like them) are active members and have been for years! There are many many more. Why would they not be able to post on the forum over a new account that's played destiny one time. HOW DOES THAT SOLVE ANYTHING?
Repost and like until this is fixed, thanks. Thoughts?
Tl;dr 7+ years on our forum, but you didnt fork out $60 for our new game? BANNED.

Wow... this is a thing now. How far you have fallen Bungie.

I didn't create this, all the credit goes to buddy.
I'm trying to save as much of the Flood as I can. Here's a way to save your account. Download the free Density demo. Make an account and play for a few seconds. Wash your eyes out with bleach. (This is a very important step.) Link your old account to Density and congrats! You have now bypassed the Bungie border patrol and you now have a fake passport. Go back to posting
Might as well throw this shit in here too now since I originally wrote it for this thread. Been here almost 8 years, even through the huge site downgrades, and now I got booted off for not paying the new $60 entrance fee. This is probably the most heinous money-grubbing sleaziness I've ever seen a company try to pull on its fans. I guess it's not surprising, really. They tried to kill off the older members by executing Bungie.net and replacing it with this ugly, eye-burning design, and when that didn't work they finally realized the only way to exterminate us fully would be to enact a pay-wall for website usership. Indefensible, really. This may be the farthest a company has gone to alienate people in the gaming industry ever. If I didn't buy Destiny before, I sure as shit am not going to now, since I'd prefer not to give a single penny to the corporate overlords at the top of the pyramid wringing their hands with delight over this new final solution for all those users who still haven't paid up on their new piece of trash product. Underhanded, low, shady. There is no excuse. It is not a means of improving the community, and it was never intended to be. The community is only going to worsen if its older, mature members are barred from participating in it, and no-one could possibly be stupid enough to ever believe that hanging up a "No proven devoted site members allowed" sign on Bungie.net would improve it long enough to put something like this into practice. That's a load of garbage they're trying to feed us to simply cover up the fact that they don't want users who haven't bought one of their games in five years to be getting a free ride on their forums anymore. Plain and simple. But, if you've borrowed Destiny from your friend once and popped it into your machine and fired up an account, you're automatically a more valuable community member than someone who's been here 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7+ years because at least you’re meeting the new boss. What a brilliant system. This is surely a means of improving the community and not simply a passive-aggressive way to try to squeeze a few more people for their pocket change. I wasn’t even sure if I wanted to make a character at a friend’s in order to openly criticize this absolute avarice, or if I should just have left the website, since I, along with every other member who joined before last year, am clearly not wanted. In the end I just decided I would out of spite more than anything. Truly a marvel of stupidity. And the attempts to "justify" it and damage control their trainwreck of a decision so far have been even more amazing. What an utter failure of community management. The committee that dreamed up this joke should lose their jobs for this kind of mishandling of online presence for a company. This is like Facebook shutting off access to anyone who hasn't played Farmville. If you wanted to limit the Destiny forum with this sort of stipulation, fine, but ranging it to a site-wide ban for anyone not interested in some garbage game shat out on a plate by a company sucked dry of its vivacity by the corporate wonder of Craptivision is utterly villainous business practices. I would love for the MBA failure who dreamed up this company policy to attempt to explain it in any way that does not make him or her sound like a first year business student stuttering through their proposal for web presence concepts as the professor looks on with a grimace of disappointment at the embarrassment. Because that's what this is, embarrassing. For everyone involved. Everyone who thought it up, everyone who worked to implement it, everyone who wants to try to defend it. What a failure.
DeeJ It is our hope that you’ll enjoy a long stay in our online home.
But not for too long, of course. Some of you have already overstayed your welcome.
DeeJ Throw down some roots.
But make sure not to let them sink too deep, because around here we’ve got a long saw and a hankering to cut down the tallest trees.
DeeJ Make some friends.
But don’t get too close. They may not be around for long.
DeeJ Be excellent to each other.
Because Bungie is not going to be excellent to you. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever seen a gaming company so openly antagonistic to its audience. It’s a marvel, it truly is. Oh and also, #WeAreThe1%

Edited by GribbyMcGrub: 10/30/2015 12:00:03 PMFor a month, I refused to make a character, simply due to abhorrence at how Bungie had so suddenly implemented this new rule, and how it pushed out so many quality users. Their reasoning that the population affected only made up less than 1% made me laugh hysterically, seeing as how so many of that 99% are just LFG posts, duplicate posts, and terrible people in general, and also how, for a developer team so "involved" with their community, they push out the best and oldest of the members, seeing them only as statistics instead of old fans. For a month, I watched #Gaming and #Offtopic slowly die, becoming more toxic every hour. I also watched how moderation has even declined, which amused me because, wasn't this new update supposedly implemented to circumvent the use of alts? It seems as if the only moderation that happens are ones that ban users over mild infractions, or just banning them just for the hell of it, while there are outright terrible users, using genocide in normal posts. Like, really? You ban someone over a compliment, but don't ban Hitler Jr. over here? Hell, there's a post around here that has a porn link that's been up since APRIL. I only made an account yesterday because I couldn't bear to watch how this place was turning into a cesspool, and standing by silently just made it feel worse. Digging out my old PS3 just to play Destiny for a few minutes to get this account back was more negative than I remember. You continue to ostracize and take your community for granted, Bungie. Don't be surprised when your bad PR bites you in the ass, like it should.

*sits in a polished black leather chair* "Now originally halo had brought me here, Reach/Halo 4 ish and I was meh about being around and confused so I edged out a little lurking from time to time. But I then became an active lurker in 2012, 2013 I started posting around here but with other alts, and 2014 I became Neon you see today. Many people see my old profile (old neon) and say I have been here for only a year, no, I've been around quite a while but officially I was posting in 2013 and just lurking around not getting too involved 2012. But I hated this account ban and luckily I actually play Destiny as a pass time and could get past the fee but the others who did not that is bs to take them down for their non payment, I remember seeing a guy around here a few months back who had racked up 10+ years on his account! And now he is gone... Thanks bungie -_-.."

Edited by Decimator Omega: 10/17/2015 12:38:14 AMHalo brought me here, Destiny made me leave. I'm very against Bungie now. I always have been since the beginning of this crummy site update, and Marty's firing. Oh and new mods need lessons here. I got banned at the beginning of this year for actually leaving a complement.

Seeing all these responses basically makes me realize these forums are practically over. This is what happens when you have children raised in a liberal america, bunch of whiners.
