Good write-up!
I would only partly disagree with your "Even back when the last two DLCs didn't do this" in the 5th paragraph. As they did make it so that if you hadn't "purchased" the DLC, then you were not always allowed to do the Weekly Heroic, or the Nightfall. You weren't completely locked out of all of them, but enough times that everyone should have realized (at that time) what they were capable of doing to everyone.

True enough. Sadly, even with the outcry back then about it, there were those still content to buy the product being sold which gave the company no real push to change things. I think if anything, the community is probably the biggest obstacle to fixing the game's problems.

I agree with you! I had already prepaid for both DLC's, and I did complain about it when I found out because a friend hadn't yet purchased the DLC.

Yeah, I ended up buying that Expansion Pass at the Midnight Release for the game. Back then I saw "expansion" and expected to get actual "expansions" not cut content...
