Complaint. Possible Class Action

I have sort some legal advice as to this and it's currently being assessed. There is possibility it will go further as the solicitor and now barrister reviewing what I put forward believe I may have a strong case. Since the latest 'Taken King' update, that I have not purchased. I am unable to play the game 'Destiny' as previously purchased. When originally purchased, the price paid advertised a game that no longer exists. The latest forced update has not been an optional add on as such but is required to play most aspects of the game originally purchased. When I paid for destiny originally I paid for a game that had a number of gaming options such as the crucible, weekly and daily challenges and free roam. The latest forced update has not been an add on as such but actually took away most of the original game that I paid for. I can no longer play most of the games originally offered game types. Unless of course I pay to play the latest update release. I do not wish to play the newest release 'Taken King'. I do wish to play the game I paid for as originally purchased. Are Bungie planning on any patches/updates/rollbacks to allow players that have not purchased the Taken King to play the game they had already paid for and was taken away? If not do Bungie have any plans on compensation for the % amount of game removed from what a player has previously paid for?

  • Since you still play why not get the latest dlc? Heck you get everything for 40 bucks. I'm sure that's nothing for a guy that can afford lawyers.

    • And before all the Trolls jump in.. No I'm not a kid. Yes I could afford to buy the latest dlc if I wanted to. . And everyone else's if I wanted to. But no I do not want to buy the dlc. I don't want to spend anymore money on destiny. However I do expect to retain what I paid for originally. I'm no lawyer nor do I pretend to know the details of where this legally sits etc. Hence the reason I asked people who did know. And yes. There is a case. It may not be anything big, however it will be calculated on a % of removed but originally paid for game data basically. . I'm not sure how that works, again. . Im no lawyer..

As in there Terms of Service, they reserve the right to perform changes of any kind to the game that they own. You have absolutely zero Legal ground to stand on. • How about you get over it. They promised all that stuff when the game came out, now it's been out for q year. You can't pick and choose what updates they release. It is their game, they can do what they want with it.

          • For the love of Christ, ITS NOT A DLC (in the aspect of an add-on) blame ActiVision if you want for marketing it as one. Taken King is the transition from year 1 to year 2, same as say Halo 2 to 3. If you're new to MMOs this is how they work. A giant new update comes out and if you don't get it you don't continue in the game

            • PvP: Everything's still there, you just can't choose which modes you get (more or less). PvE: Everything's still there

              • You can still do patroll, crucible and one strike playlist. I agree bungie has made the game extremely limited to people without TTK but your best hope is to look at the software agreements you had to agree to when first logging in. Definitely file a class action if you find something to go on but i highly doubt that bungies legal advisors would not have left you anything to go on

              • Honestly, I think the best thing for you to do is find another game. This particular game is going to change and evolve, it has to. As far as I know, the year one content is still there, it's just not relevant anymore. Sure, the daily and weekly events and missions are probably not playable for the most part without TTK, but that's just part of the evolution process. I think the bottom line is: If you don't enjoy Destiny enough to buy the year two content and keep up with the game's evolution, then it's probably time to move on anyway. Good luck.

              • No there is no case here. Word of advice, don't talk about your education or what money you make. It only makes you look dumb because there is no way to prove it. In the EULA you agreed to when getting this game, it says they can change the content and requirements for certain activities, mainly the nightfall, some crucible modes, the daily. The nightfall is always endgame content, and always will be. Therefore it must always be upgraded. You paid for the base game, with the basic strikes, crucible modes, and missions. That is what you currently have access to. Trying to file a lawsuit is incredibly stupid. You have enough money to buy everyone's copy so you say, but you don't want to spend anymore money on this game, yet you want to spend the money to hire a lawyer to get return money on a game you just said you don't wanna spend anymore money on? Hypocrisy is real in this post. Do yourself a favor and just delete the thread and stop playing the game.

                • You can still play everything though... VoG Crota PoE All missions included in base game and DLCs Crucible on year 1 maps Year 1 strikes Bounties (obv. excluding TTK related ones) Endgame activities like weekly strikes, nightfalls, daily heroics, Iron Banner and Trials need to stay up to date with the higher light levels to make them relevant, so people will play them. And if vendor weapons are your argument, nobody complained when old weapons were taken away, it was going to happen anyway
