This was our first weapon in Destiny, and probably one of the most unique looking guns for it's time. Wouldn't it be awesome if we got an exotic version of this gun so that we can still use this amazing weapon! I think a lot of people will want this Bungie, so please make this a thing!
Edit: Yes, I know that the version I am showing is not the best way to make the exotic (the stats that is), it's just an example image I found on google that I thought had a cool aesthetic look to it.
Edit: Of the 400 replies in this thread, most of them are in favor of making the Khvostov have an exotic counterpart. I think Bungie needs to start on it now so that we may have it by the next DLC!
(Also Bungie, I would forgive you with microtransactions if you made all future DLC free, and added the Khvostov exotic.)

Thought the sight was cool but broken so I thought up a perk for improving the sight, and moving while shooting is a lot more fun so I thought to make a perk that would make that easier. Also, looked it up and found out that "Khvostov" means "tail" in Russian. I thought that was stupidly close to "tale" so yeah... Our Tale Auto Rifle “It won’t be our last” Ghost 0: Kinetic Damage 1: The Infiltrator (Improved Stealth), The Rampart (33% More Flinch) 2: Rangefinder 3: Extended Magazine, Quickdraw, Braced Frame 4: Pathfinder (Increased Accuracy while mobile) Hidden Perk: ADS at an opponent tracks them for a short period of time RoF: 80 Impact: 20 Range: 42 Stability: 53 Reload: 45 Mag: 28-35-42. Note Stealth means how often you appear on your radar, usually referring to crouching and invisibility. It's supposed to be a Silencer Ballistic. <Edit> How to get it: - Rank 10 Gunsmith - Complete lv 42 extension of first mission, where your shot down from your ship on the way down, and lost all your iweapons. You find the Khvostov you left to dust and have to get past all the enemies to an Taken Archon that took all your stuff like a typical Fallen instead of a Taken. It could contribute to the story line hinting that the Taken are finding there will again.

Awesome Idea. I told a friend a while back it would be cool if through the campaign you could have leveled up the Khostov through uncommon, rare, legendary and then exotic levels during the campaign, or perhaps through side missions. Then it would have been your first weapon and then maybe you're first Exotic too.

(Heart as in a synonym of 'core,' not the organ; just to clarify) If they do make it an exotic, it will probably involve doing the first mission as the daily heroic. I imagine you'd pick up the rifle, climb in some vents as ghost comments on your "unusual route," and take on the Fallen onslaught back where you started.

Yes, but not the one you posted up. It should be visually similar to its base model and should be void based. Something about time and space has warped the weapon to hyper lethal status.

really I like this idea we need more weapons that can evolve in to other things. remember how necrochasm worked I never got that gun my self partly cause it sucked buy anyway I think the Kvostov showed work like that were you could turn it from a common in to a exotic. However, not sure how it would be pimped out like exotic perks for it and other things like that. and how the upgrade process would work. But that sounds cool

Yes, it should get stronger and stronger to no limit until you swap to another weapon, open your ghost, open your menu, die, or go to orbit.
