No it doesn't. If you look it adds a round to your reserves every time you take a shot with the final round.

It may say it adds ammo, but every time it shoots, it takes -1 ammo from your reserves

When you get to 1 ammo left...you can still shoot that 1 round over and over. So it kinda has unlimited ammo.
